I am orginally from Sarajevo and am used to frequenting Buregdinice- this is a bakery for the traditional local savoury pastry pies and you will find one on every corner.

My cousin who lives in Sarajevo suggested the place and the food was delicious and traditional, served simply with sour cream. Being a big fan of Pita (as the locals call it) I was really impressed and wolfed down 500 grams of potato pita 'krompirusha'- this was real soul food for me as I hadnt visited my country of birth for 4 years. Not to mention the perfect comfort food. Lovely seating outside in the cobbled street of Bascarsija, a truly a charming part of the old town where East really meets West!

There wasn't any signage indicating the different types of pie available, but the staff were very happy to help us out. The pie came in a large serving and was very tasty. Great value for 5 KM.

This was our favorite for spinach and potato pie (zeljanica and krumpirusa) during our two years in Sarajevo. Buregdzinca Zvrk, near the bus stop in Ilidza (near the airport) had our favorite pita in Sarajevo: a chicken pita that was amazing. It's hard to find chicken pita in Sarajevo and Zvrk is not listed on Trip Advisor, so I wanted to put a plug here. Sac was a treat not just for their fresh pie, but to watch the cooks at work. We often took visitors here for a truly "authentic" experience. The waitresses were always kind to us, which makes their food even tastier. A classic, simple Sarajevo food experience that should not be missed. We ate here at least 20+ times.

Truly Bosnian pie, traditionally made and cooked. You must have the yoghurt as well to wash down the pie. Varying types, though i much preferred the meat and potato one.

Food is awesome and place has it's charm. When you are in Baščaršija and looking for something traditional to eat, please, stop here.
I was surprised when some locals have ordered burek but not in pieces but in Bosnian Marks, so one ordered burek for 2 KM. That was kind of odd but finally it is useful when you have some coins to spend before leaving BiH.
