I am orginally from Sarajevo and am used to frequenting Buregdinice- this is a bakery for the traditional local savoury pastry pies and you will find one on every corner.
My cousin who lives in Sarajevo suggested the place and the food was delicious and traditional, served simply with sour cream. Being a big fan of Pita (as the locals call it) I was really impressed and wolfed down 500 grams of potato pita 'krompirusha'- this was real soul food for me as I hadnt visited my country of birth for 4 years. Not to mention the perfect comfort food. Lovely seating outside in the cobbled street of Bascarsija, a truly a charming part of the old town where East really meets West!
