“Very nice place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

After roaming around the city looking for a cheap place to stay, and refusing quite a few horrible rooms, we were pointed to this hotel, and it was a good find. The hotel has new pleasant rooms for about 70 euros (double with breakfast), but also has an older building in the back, where we were able to get a twin room for 30 euros. The room was fresh and nice, the bathroom clean and pleasant. The front desk was helpful, young and friendly. They went out of their way to help us with a mechanical problem in our car. The hotel is very close to the center and can keep your car in the parking, although you will have to leave your key. We had trouble paying with credit card because of a Muslim holiday bringing down all the banking system, but all in all I would recommend this hotel for the unbeatable price, the cleanness and pleasant vibe. The hotel is listed 3 stars, but displays 4 stars on the facade, which was kind of puzzling. There is no a/c and no elevator, so I think it is more of a 3 stars.

Room Tip: If you are on a budget, request the hostel rooms at the back. The lower floors are more fresh than t...

Arrived in Sarajevo at night and it was hard to find the hotel, the parking place was very narrow, you basically park on the street right in front of a construction place. The streets were narrow everywhere though. The rooms are a bit small and the beds are so close to the ground, and without air conditioning, instead, there was a small fan in the room. Also, breakfast was okay.

When i saw a hotel on the web, i thought this will be a good combination of 3-day journey to the new state/city and solid hotel where you could take a relax after all-day sightseeing.
I didn't heard some good things about hotel before we went there, but I thought it couldn't be so bad, but i was wrong...
When we arrived there (we had some problems finding hotel) i had problems with parking, because streets around hotel are really tight. I finaly parked in front of hotel on the street, because hotel have their own parking about 100m from hotel :-(. They gave us a room in the attic (last floor) where I couldn't normally stand up in the whole room (I'm 1.8m), toillete was also something like room, you couldn't go normally to the toillete, also you couldn't take a normal shower. The water in the shower when you take a bath doesn't go away for some time. We didn't have wardrobe in the room - only four different dress-hangers. We found some hair under the bed coover. The room didn't have air-conditioning, only small ventilator which couldn't cool the room because it was in attic.

Room cleaning lady also serve a breakfast (whitch is so, so bad and poor and because of that you could not call that a breakfast), she also dish wash, serve at the bar...
I don't know how about the rest of the rooms, but this was awful experience, and because of that I wouldn't recommend nobody this hotel.

The Hotel is rather hard to be found at first, but once you get there, it is totally easy to navigate your way to the very heart of Sarajevo - just 5 minutes of stroll down the hill.

Staff is okay, they are doing their job well. I have no idea how good they are in foreign languages, we were using the local language all the time. Once I ordered wake-up call and it was punctual.

I booked a single room, but they gave me twinbed room. Room is very basic and small, but clean. Towels are being changed daily, and the soap/shampoo is also avalaible. There is no airconditioning, just a fan. Room has no wardrobe, so you must keep your clothes inside your bag. Not quite convenient! Bathroom is clean, but not laid out well. In order to approach the toillet, you need to enter the bathroom, then close the door, and there you go! :) I do not fault the hotel, space in the building is very limiting.

Additional amenties at room include a phone and a tv set. Sleep quality was okay, no issues with the bed.

Breakfast is 101% basic. You have one type of ham, one type of cheese, some bread, milk, coffee and tea. Nothing to write home about.

This hotel is very basic, but if you are looking for an affordable stay in the heart of the town, go for it.

The ugly, small room with no facilities. No internet connection in the room, there is a phone in the room but it doesn't work, people have no smiling muscle on their faces, when you take shower water stays in the tub, terrible experience.

Room Tip: pick another hotel/pension/motel etc.If you are going to stay there make sure you check the shower...

Decent location near Pigeons Square in the old town. If you are looking for the HI Hostel Hayat, it is the same property as the Hotel Hayat! Lots of old and unmarked streets in that area of Sarajevo. Take a taxi there, don't mess with the tram or bus and then it is simple getting your bearings. As of June 2012 the Tram 1 doesn't go near the old town due to track referbushment so this is not an option. Some buses stop near the hostel but I don't think they connect to the train or bus station.

The hostel room was basic, clean and had its own bathroom. For the price, no complaints. The main part of the hotel was well decorated and very clean. The staff all spoke English and were helpful with tourist info.

I didn't eat at the restaurant but did do the
Pizza from up the road. Take away only, they don't speak English and you just say pizza and you see them make it
From scratch in a wood burning fire oven. Soon good.

We stayed here 3 nights. The plus side is that it's close to the old town (a must) and so well located, BUT it is a hotel of two halves! The reception, lounge and restaurant (cafe really) are modern, clean and well appointed, but our room (603) was basically furnished. A double bed and a single, jammed into a weirdly shaped room. No chair and a tiny side table. The beds were very low to the floor. Of the 10 yes 10 lights in the room, three didn't work. It reminded us of student accommodation, not an hotel. The staff's bedmaking skills consisted of just flinging the cover back over the dishevelled sheets. The bathroom was basic but clean. The towels were scratchy and old. We had the benefit of a randomly barking dog in the early morning. The breakfast was limited and the coffee undrinkable. There was a coffee machine if you could persuade the staff to make one for you (sometimes at a charge). Looking at other photos of the hotel, it occurs to me that there are two parts to this hotel, one quite smart, the other a hostel for younger travellers, of which there were a number in the hotel. Make sure you get allocated to the nicer rooms.

Room Tip: Make sure you get the modern hotel rooms
