“Absolutely standard, perfectly reasonable renovated soviet-era hotel”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

The hotel is exactly what one would (or should, if you have no experience of these kind of places) expect from a soviet-era hotel. It is large, not particularly welcoming, but functional. Everything was clean, although in places a little shabby. The staff were fine, if not the most friendly. Breakfast was not amazing, but perfectly satisfactory. On the plus side (although everything said so far should also be seen as positive, as some soviet-era hotels are truly horrid), the hotel is very well-located opposite the river and park, and only a ten minute walk from the beautiful historic centre. There is also a supermarket right next door. For those who are into those sort of things, the hotel also has bowling and a strip-club. Considering that my room only cost USD100 a night, I thought that the place was a pretty good deal, and would consider going back if I'm ever in Minsk again.

Staying in this hotel, you feel like being back in the USSR. You get a chilly welcome at the reception. Corridors are dark. Rooms are rather small, decoration and furniture appear to be dating back to when this hotel was originally built. Same for the bathroom. The only exception was a flatscreen TV on the wall. I was amused by the hotel note next to the desk phone in my room, which advised the guests to turn off the phone if you prefer not to be disturbed during the night. I regretted not following this advice, when had been woken up at 1 a.m. by a phone call offering "sex and massage". Breakfast was ok. Internet is not free, but you can buy pre-paid WiFi cards at the reception really cheap. The location of the hotel was rather convenient. Short walk from the nearest metro. Plenty of shops and places to eat out nearby. Overall - there are much better hotels in Minsk.

Was on the 4. floor in un-renovated room. Nice size. TV (no english), fridge and nice shower. No AC which can be an issue. Breakfast below par for such a hotel. Located near metro. Wi-fi in the room. Nice view. Madrasses neat to be replaced soon, but for now ok.

All in all an ok hotel, but 100 Euro for unrenovated room is too expensive.

Room Tip: Take note on where the sun is,, to avoid hottest rooms.

It ws business trip so did not expect too much. Staff was little bit cold but ok. Room was nothing special. Internet connectio was ok but had to be payed for (not expensive). Breakfast was modest and dinner was poor. Location is ok although not in center but to center is 15-20 miutes walk or few minutes by Metro or taxi. Weird add on is all night calls offering sex massage?!??!

Room Tip: Tall hotel, go for higher room for a better view

I was staying in hotel for 4 days during ERJC in Minsk in 2013. Hotel is nice and clean, but a little out-dated and old-fashioned. Rooms are OK but kind of small. There is a TV and air condition which was important for me. The best things are location and view. It is very close to city centar and bus station is right in front. Food is good if not great. There is no free Wi-Fi, but price is only 1€ for 10h. Hotel is great for younger people who are not asking for much. I wouldn't recommend for families with children because of small rooms and due to the fact that there is a striptease bar next to the reception, and "ladies" are occasionally calling your room telephone offering "services".

Booking a hotel in Minsk from abroad is not easy, because you need to do it through an "state" agency. And the price is expensive in Minsk,...and later you can see that the service you have is down your expectation. Location is north in the city, 15-20m walk from the center, with a nice surroundings (lake, statues, etc). A bus stop in front of the hotel can take you to the center. Building is a classical from russian rule. Reception is correct. The room, looking north (probably better south), small (I payed for "superior"...?), with a tiny shower. You pay small extra money for wifi, but it doesn't work in the room. Breakfast, in a big ugly room, with waiters eating behind the screen, and food looking, just to star an strict diet. My favourite experience was one full day visit to the palace-castles in Nesvizh and Mir, 80 km to the south-west. You can agree this option with the guide Andrei (see "What to do"), or perhaps with an english speaking taxi-driver.

Room Tip: Top, and looking south

Good hotel.

It's not on the most central location, but it's close to the subway. We traveled by car, and you can park your car at the back of the hotel.

The rooms are very nice, we had a suite for a family of 4. Good beds, enough space and a great view (12th floor).

The breakfast was also ok. We didn't have diner in the hotel during our stay.
