I was pleasantly surprised by the Yubileiny. Nice room (503) with decent shower, comfortable bed, crisp linen sheets, new towels every day, strong wifi (not free but a wifi card is only €6), good coffee at breakfast. Some nice restaurants nearby. There is a park across the way for walking/jogging. No gym. Would stay again. The people are nice, but you have to smile and be nice first. :-)

As other reviewers have pointed out, this hotel is a typical Soviet-style hotel with the usual low lighting and no-nonsense staff. We did get a relatively friendly greeting on our arrival. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was average, as was breakfast. Convenient to have a currency exchange office in the hotel, as it is difficult to procure Belarussian Roubles prior to your entry into the country. We bought Internet time cards and they worked inconsistently in the lobby. Traktir Restaurant nearby is excellent! There is much more green space in Minsk than we'd expected.

If you want a blast from the past, this is the place to stay. My hotel room made me feel like I was on a Konsomol outing and the two small beds set in a T-shape had me thinking that I might have another guest at any minute. Carpets grotty, constant smell of cigarette smoke, 'etazhnaya' constantly lurking, but if you want to know what 1970 felt like in the USSR, this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: not sure there are any, but some other fellow travellers spoke about a floor that had gone through a 'remont'. 5th floor, I think.

Being used to hotels in the area of the former Soviet Union this hotel was no surprise. Actually, it was better than expected. OK: rooms are basic, but if you're not into a lot of fuzz all is there.WIFI was exemely cheap and worked in the room. Staff at the desk was proffesional, sometimes even friendly! Breakfast could be better, could be worse. It's about a 15 minutes walk to Minsk centre, which is much nicer than you might expect. There's an exchange office in the hotel as well as an ATM. If you're male and travelling alone, like me, expect to get a call at around 0.00 wether you would like a massage. After one firm refusal I wasn't bothered again. All in all, given hotelstandards in CIS countries, the hotel was better then expected.

I stayed in this hotel three nights in the beginning of August. The hotel was what I expected, and even looked for: an old Intourist-hotel in bad and good, overpriced compared to smaller cities hotels, but for example, I paid more for worse accommodation in Jurmala, Latvia. Parking for the motorcycle was safe, just in front of the guard's office. Location is good with nice park just other side of the street, and the bus trip to center is fast and cheap. Air conditioned room was clean, breakfast plentiful, and the one meal I had in hotel's restaurant was good too, especially cauliflower was tasty. ATM:s max 20 metres from main entrance, a beer garden and tourist info just next to the hotel. I even got a smile in return from one of reception ladies, never stop trying. The phone rang only in the last night after I returned to the room from the bar. Luckily the phones are of modern type, and you can remove the connector easily from phone. No reason not to come here again, if I happen to be motorcycling in that corner of the globe.
