A small charming hotel just in the heart of the city. Very friendly staff to help you, the check-in was quick and smooth. We were guided through all those corridors and stairs up to our room. Room is just basic but comfy. There is a separate bathroom with small but functional shower. Breakfast was very good and served with smile. Locations is just few minutes walk from the centre square. Hotel has it own restaurant, but there is lot of choices in the neighborough too. Very recommendable if you are not handicapped, because there is a lot stairs and narrow staircases in the hotel.

Small hotel in a very central location
The staff and waiters are very attentive and nothing seems too much trouble for them
Breakfast was adequate but limited, and the hotel restaurant was very reasonable with a good variety of meals.
We would happily stay here again

The driver who picked us up from the airport was incredibly friendly and welcoming. On arrival at the hotel, check in was swift. The receptionist showed my colleague and I to our rooms: 20 and 21, at the back of the hotel. Each had a single bed and all the necessary amenities (although my TV didn't work), but no more than necessary. We had a gorgeous view from the window... onto a brick wall.

Breakfast was quirky, as one had to choose from several options form a laminated menu. I opted for "toast" which in reality was a ham and cheese sandwich. My colleague opted for friend eggs, which came with a Chernobyl-looking sausage and a reasonable slab of local cheese. As we were leaving the breakfast room the waiter kindly reminded us that breakfast was included in the room rate. He went on to hint that service charge was not included: this is the first time ever during my travels that a breakfast waiter has asked for a tip.

The hotel has a yard area at the back where WIFI is available. It is available nowhere else. In the rooms a wire is available: useless for smart phones of course. The yard has a very strange large cage in which several birds are kept in captivity: a couple of doves, a pheasant and so on. Weird. Then you look down and you see that there is a raccoon in a cage not more than 1.5sqm. "He has been there seven years", a staff member told us. "He used to eat meat but now he is vegetarian!".

Stay here - it is very centrally located and charming!

Stayed here one month. The most unbelievable staff who tries to help in any way possible. Very personable, caring. The rooms are quite nice for the very reasonable price. Like many places in Albania, there is a problem with sewer gas smell, but if you cover the drain in the shower and adjacent floor vent with a towel, you will have no problem. The taxi driver of the hotel is very honest and helpful, will spend the day with you on local excursions...his driving his superb--and avoids the hazards created by the rest of the Tirana drivers. Plan on spending one month here next summer as well...oh...the best coffee in Albania is made by Memoza in the morning!

The location of the hotel is brilliant - being just off Skanderbeg Square you're just around the corner from the National History Museum and no more than 15-20 mins walk from the Blok. Quite a small hotel which gives it a lot of character. I liked the peacock feather decorations throughout although wasn't a fan of the caged animals... The restaurant was good although breakfast was a little small/ little choice.

Room Tip: Beware you will get woken up by the cockerel!

We stayed for only one night before heading off to the beach but quite enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very central and there were lots of restaurants and cafes in the neighbourhood. Walking at night in the area felt very comfortable but I think that is true of most of Albania. Our twin room had a lovely, large balcony overlooking the street and everything was very clean. One reviewer commented on the cages out in the courtyard. There is still one raccoon and a number of birds. I'm not a big fan of wildlife in cages, but at least the cages were clean. Many people seem to have bird cages and small aviaries in Albania and if you find it very distressing you may not enjoy your holiday there.

Room Tip: There are several rooms on the first floor up that have lovely balconys.

Yes, the staff are very kind and helpful but I experienced this from all Albanian people I met. Cannot complain about the restaurant either. Typical tasty Balkan food. Location is OK too but my (single) room. .. Yes, it was quiet but it was very small and no comparison to the double rooms I could look into when they were cleaning them. I'm afraid I will choose another hotel when returning to this city. What a great place to be, by the way! And still undiscovered by mass tourism.
