We went on a day trip from Tirana, taking the cable car up the Dajti mountain. There is also a road route to go up the mountain. There are plenty of play areas for kids like bouncy castle, slides, swings etc. There are also activities like balloon shooting and horse riding for adults/older kids. The restaurant is amazing offering good food with a view. Overall worthy day trip from Tirana.

You're most likely to access it via the relaxing cable car, and when you get to the top there's much more than just the views to enjoy - with a restaurant, hotel, sports facilities, an adventure park and more to occupy your time. Well worth the trip.

We visited Mount Dajti in the midst of summer, August 2019. It's a nice breath of fresh air, literally and figuratively, and it escapes some of the heat from downtown Tirana.

The quick cable car ride up is easily accessible with the "Porcelane" bus line and only 40 lek. The cable car ride itself for a two way ticket is somewhat expensive, but it won't break your bank.

After exiting the cable car station we bought a hike map (350 lek, expensive considering it's pretty much only a brochure of what routes are available) and set out for the yellow route. This route is supposed to take you to the summit, but because the map wasn't really all that accurate we got lost and somehow took a completely different route. The routes themselves are marked perfectly with the European "standard" red and white cross markings on trees and rocks. So, tip, if you want to reach the summit, be sure to check Google and the map very often to avoid missing the crossing of the three routes.

After heading back from the wrong route we lunched and decided to do some mini-golf behind the cable car station. At the time of writing, Albania is still a country with little to no tourism so we where pretty much the only ones on the range. Little expensive, but a fun way to end the activities in Mount Dajti.

Would recommend for anyone willing to try hiking for the first time or just wants a good view of Tirana at the top.

This is a must visit place for visitors to Albania. The views are spectacular and there is so much to do there. It is a wonderful place for families and for romantics. If you are scared of heights, be prepared as the cable car ride can be a little scary. My wife is scared of heights, but she said it was worthwhile to visit. One can play miniature golf at the tope, do adventure things, and have a great meal.
