“Ugly reminder of an ugly past”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Definitely worth a visit if you're in Tirana - one of the few reminders of the ugly communist past of the country (now very rapidly erased), and one that may go very soon, as plans are made to build a new parliament building on the site.

“an old grey building”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

what could have been a touristic and cultural sight is now a grey building withering away..its not possible to go inside the building and to get there one must go through the traffic...most good sights in Albania are outside Tirana (skhodra, lezhe, fushe kruja, gjirokastra, saranda etc etc) tirana is just unbearable..

“So Bad it's Worth Seeing”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

A remnant from the communist times, now stripped of its cover, and apparently good to go (to make room for new government buildings). Full of graffiti and partly derelict, there is not much to see. You cannot enter, and although some people climb it, this does not appear the safest thing to do... It's a great symbol of how the Hoxha era is regarded today.

“Ugliest Building I Have Ever Seen”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

i have done a lot of travelling over the years in 67 countries and this is without a doubt the ugliest thing I have ever seen. It is so horrible that I just could not take my eyes off it, it is fascinatingly diabolical and TOTALLY worth your time in visiting. Words cannot express how dire it is.
It is derelict now having been used a disco and a conference centre. People have graffitied all over it and even robbed some of the stone steps in its exterior. It is the absolute epitome of Communist era Kitch. The dictator EnmverHoxha allowed his daughter to design and oversee its building, only a dictators kid would get away with this crime against taste, when you see it you will realise that.
But we kept going back day after day to marvel in its ugliness. Loved it, it is delightfully horrible.

“Fascinating - Covered in Graffiti”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

This was built by Hoxha's daughter as a tribute to her father but has been totally desecrated with Graffiti and vandalism. That in itself is fascinating and the older teenagers were climbing all over it. We gather Hoxha is not this generations favourite person.
