“I nice square, an finally (nearly) completed”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

A nice square in the centre of town, well-kept (government) building around, and by now (almost) completed. It would be much nicer if kept free of the traffic.

“Lovely Square, Recently Renovated”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

Skanderbeg may lack the compact grandeur of many of Europes capital city's central squares, but is is pretty nice nonetheless. It has been done up in recent years and is dominated by the oval green park around the statue of Albanian Patriot Skanderbeg and the massive National Museum with its iconic frontal mosaic. Mussolini left a nice legacy with thew building son the far end and the Ethem Bey Mosque gives it character.
The cafe outside the Opera House is worth your time to sit and people watch or look over the square.

“See it while in the neighborhood”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

As mentioned in anothe review, there really isn't much to see in Tirana, but most of all that there is to see is within about 100 yards of the square. The square is somewhat like a park and a bit closed off. It has the statue of Skanderbeg and that is about it. Still, if in the area you can see it all in an hour or so.

“Get a view overlooking the Square for morning Peak Hour”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

The Square is brilliant but the best part was watching the chaos in the morning. Have fun crossing the roads - it is a skill you will develop.

“The center of Tirana”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

Skanderbeg Square is certainly the center of Tirana. It's not really a square but rather a park with lawn and trees. Right in the center is a statue of Skanderbeg sitting on a horse. Around this square you'll find all the ministries, the opera house etc.

Tirana doesn't have much to offer. But all it's got is not far from this place.
