I stayed at Pothonggang Hotel for one night in February. The room was o.k., but it is in my opinion more or less the same standard as in Koryo Hotel. Furniture and bathroom a bit outdated.
Shopping-Area in the ground floor is like a small shopping street, which looks nice. I stayed here on my first night after arrival and I was looking forward to have some korean food.
Unfortunately they served european food instead (maybe to do a favour for the european guest), but it was not tasty. It was a kind of Schnitzel made of minced meat with no flavour.
It is o.k. to stay here, but in my opinion it is not worth to pay the extra money fort he upgrade – saying that, I can’t tell anything about the leisure facilities, as I only stayed for a very short period and had no time to use them.More
