This restaurant, on the beach road heading to the airport, is nice and friendly and serves good food at reasonable prices. It tends to be frequented by people on business as most Comorian families still tend to eat at home, but it is actually quite child friendly as there are places to play without disturbing the guests. There's no alcohol on sale, but the menu is interesting. In addition to the lobster (ubiquitous on menus in Comoros) there is also a range of options that you don't find elsewhere. My favourite is the cook-at-table Comorian BBQ, which is served with a choice of meat or fish (or both) and some nice sauces. Its a good meal to share.

The people are polite. They speak French and some other island language. I went as far as the lake. It was quite interesting but for the fact that the road was very bumpy and narrow. The meals in this restaurant were really good, the staff very welcoming.

Although the entrance is a little foreboding being through the yard of a filling station the interior is pleasant and the staff very welcoming. The menu is eclectic and the food is well cooked and presented. Definitely the winner in Moroni

I was in the Comoros on business and after meeting with the Chamber of Commerce we agreed to meet for lunch the next day with the Director. He steered us toward L'Alchemiste. It's not fancy - positioned behind (or next to but off the road) a petrol station and right on the seashore.

One eats on the veranda under a cover so there is no protection against the indigenous fauna (flies). That said, it's manageable and the weather (April) and view (seaside) were excellent.

Just pick the seafood and enjoy!
