“Roulottes (not roulettes)”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

Delicious and cheap food, fun to eat in the warm evening air, and locals may even play their string instruments. You can bring your own beer.

“Unique and Delicious!”
Reviewed June 13, 2014

Do not miss this! This is food trucks on steroids! From kabobs, Asian, pizza, table grills, salads, to tenderloin- it is ALL here. I had one of the best goat cheese and beet salads I have ever had- the goat cheese was wrapped in crispy dough and the greens were a mesclun mix like in a fine restaurant. My husband had a tenderloin kabob with rice and vegetables- delicious! We topped the meal off with an awesome chocolate mousse and cappuccino- all for under $40.00- a bargain in any country! They do not sell wine, so we brought it with us in some small wine bottles from home. We paid with cash but I think some of them were able to take credit cards. There are restrooms but no toilet paper or hand soap, so go prepared. Do not let this discourage you from going even if you have to pony up the $40.00 for the round trip from the Intercontinental. And do not listen to people who say it is hard to get a taxi- the taxi stand is just up the street near le Retro restaurant. Do this!!!

“Best budget meals in Tahiti”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

A Papeete must do. Tahiti can be highly expensive but this nightly tradition will provide an enormous number of food choices at affordable prices. During the day this is nothing more than a car park infront of where the boats pull in. By 6pm the Roulottes or Food Vans start setting up. Everything is available, Chinese, Indian, fish and chips, burgers etc. Smoke from barbeques and grills fills the air, it is a great place to wander even if you aren't eating. There is ample seating, all outside in the open air. By 11pm they start shutting up shop. Even though it is touristy it is a fantastic place to watch the ships come in and to make friends with new people.

“"La Roulotte" Best Food Truck EVER!”
Reviewed May 18, 2014

If you go to Papeete, you cannot miss this experience. The square where the cruise ships dock transforms into a unique culinary experience by night when a ton of food trucks roll up and open shop. The truck called "La Roulotte" is the BEST food truck you will ever eat at! And most likely the most expensive too...but by Tahiti standards, it's pretty good value. They serve the red tuna here and it is divine in the tuna tartar. The poisson cru is exceptional and the steak frites is delicious. This truck is a MUST!

“The best place for a casual meal”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

The roulettes are awesome. AKA food trucks. They set up around 6pm on the cruise docks and offer so many varieties of pan Asian fare, American, and casual cuisine. We had the Chinese, offered every where and it was delicious. So much food for so Little Cost equals a winner in my book!
