The hotel has been renovated, in style of huge urns of artificial flowers and large paintings of vahine etc. Staff helpful. In a quiet if shabby area, near to ferries and roulottes ( best place to eat.)
Room- clean, good size, but unable to read in bed (bed slid away and lamp shed no useful light), fridge had no shelves and did not work, and wi fi was sporadic. Bathroom was good.
Breakfast was dreadful, coffee apart; synthetically dyed cereal,(red, blue and yellow) , watery cordial for juice, horrible croissants, factory jam from France and only NZ fruit. Yet the ferry transports mounds of perfumed pineapples from Moorea; fresh tropical juices made there are sold near the hotel. When I complained, the staff said they had often asked the 'patron' to provide local produce: but he refuses to provide decent cereals and local jams, fruit and juice. All of us who stayed there agreed that the staff were lovely but that the hotel was so-so. There are good b and bs around.
