We'd read about Les Roulottes online before visiting Tahiti, and figured it was worth a shot to see and experience them. We're so glad we did. These particular Roulottes (food trucks) are in a pretty central location downtown, close to everything. There are several types of food, though most of the trucks tend to offer the same things, like Chinese food, fish, chicken or steak with fries, pizza, salads, etc. The portions are MASSIVE and the prices are very affordable. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are Roulottes in other locations around the island, and we heard great things about all of them, so wherever you're staying, ask about the nearest one, and you'll be glad you did. It's good food, at low prices, in a very relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. We highly recommend it! :)

P.S. There are dogs everywhere around Les Roulottes, and Tahiti in general. (Our tour guide told us that Tahiti has over 40,000 stray dogs!) For the most part, these are nice, friendly dogs, and they didn't hinder our experience in the slightest.

P.P.S. Need to visit the restroom while you're there? Men = Tane. Women = Vahine. :)

We were very surprised about the quality and portions of the food from the roulottes. Best place for dinner while visting the area. Do share as you get a lot of food. We ate here 2 evenings and tried 4 different places and they were all excellent.

I love going to eat off these gourmet food trucks in this relaxed atmosphere. the value and quality of the food is wonderful--fresh and delicious. SO much selection. It is lively because of the many families and fun.

This is a fabulous place to visit in Papeete. Awesome food and a great atmosphere. There was so much choice in what to eat but we were a large group of 11 so finding a table for us all was a challenge - but we did it
