“Pearl Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

This is a great place to learn about Tahitian pearls and browse the small museum exhibits as well as shop for them.

“Robert Wan is the emperor of the black Pearl”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2012

Robert has had an incredible life, he has created all the activity around the pearls from culture to delivery of magnificent piece of jewellry in the best places of this planet. As we say in France
"Chapeau bas Mr Wan, et Bravo l'artiste" Mr Wan should teach
all the kids of this planet what working days and night can achieve -

“Interesting but really a storefront.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2012

Worth seeing the displays and reading the explanations. The staff will check you out as you arrive. If they think you have no potential to buy, they will ignore you completely. On the other hand, if you look moneyed enough, you will get the grand tour with all the nice explanations. Note, it is the most expensive location to buy black pearls in the island. Yes, fantastic quality but astronomic prices

“it's a store”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2012

Yes there are informative sections about pearls but this place is about selling you pearls. It is a nice little 30 minute stop to get out of the rain and or heat and learn something about pearls but there is nothing museum quality about the place. The jewelry is a hoot the prices should make you laugh. It is a tourist trap IMO. BTW the best information is over in a back corner off to the left of the showroom if you enter from the harbour side.

“nice break from the heat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2012

Enjoyed hospitality of the staff. Nice explanations and display of pearls. Museum is interesting. Prices were pretty high in Papeete but we got a great 50% discount deal on two bracelets at the Robert Wan shop at the Hilton in Moorea. Also found a great "You and Me" pendant at "Fluid" in the market for a very reasonable price.
