Walking distance (with rollaway suitcases) to Ferry and Cruise Terminal - allowing for some dodgy footpaths along the way. The hotel is next to a Shell Service Station with some great snacks and reasonably-priced lunch items including baguettes. Very pleasant reception staff, humoured my attempt to speak poor French and answered in English when I failed! Staff enquired what time we would like a taxi and a wake up call for our flight and both were delivered on time. Rooms open from atrium corridors which can be very hot but air conditioning was very effective once in the room. Free WIFI in lobby. Our room had a full size fridge, plates and cutlery but no microwave or cooking facilities. Not a problem as we ate at the delightful Roulottes at the Port area, 10 mins walk. Pleasant last night in Tahiti, could not fault the hotel.

Room Tip: We liked the extra room of a 1 bed suite.

We stopped in Papeete after a 10 day sailboat charter. It was an absolute treat. The room was very large and spacious. Extremely clean with air conditioner. View out balcony towards the ocean was added treat. Spent a few minutes in the pool which was refreshing - liked the teak decking and greenery around pool. Our friends ate at restraunt and said it was very good. We really enjoyed our stay. Was in a great location to walk around Papeete. Understand other comments about dark hallways - if arriving at night it could be difficult to see your room number.

Room Tip: Room facing the street was probably a little noisy. If you are light sleeper pick room in back.

what we expected, not bad, not great.
close to ferry terminal & food trucks (3 blocks).
hotel was dimly lit, weird blue led lights on room doors, hard to find 4th floor room.
my wife thought i had booked a "hooker hotel" by the looks, but room was clean.
noisy 4th floor street facing room, better later at night when traffic died down.
free wi-fi in lobby a bonus

Room Tip: ask for a room that odes not face the street, too mush traffic noise

About a XPF 2000 (roughly AUD20) taxi ride from Faa'a International Airport to hotel (no bus service operated from the airport to the city on the Sunday we arrived). Only a short walk to shops, waterfront esplanade, Bougainville Park, Cathedral of Notre Dame and the ferry terminal. Hotel reception staff friendly and efficient and check in and check out was effortless. Hotel lobby well lit, but hallways to rooms dark - felt like I was in disco. Almost needed a torch to find your way back to the room at night. I asked for a mountain view room as I didn't want to hear noise from the main street on which the hotel was located (Avenue du Prince Hinoi). There was an awesome view of mountains, but I also saw into a lot of back yards. Lot of dogs in Papeete and Tahiti in general. Room was big enough and had a balcony. There was free internet access. Shower was terrible - like showering with a hose. There was air conditioning - which was greatly appreciated after walking around in the tropical heat. The hotel had a restaurant but we went to get a cheap meal (anywhere between XPF900-1300) at the mobile food stalls at the main Papeete Ferry Plaza which are set up every night from about 5.30-6.00pm. They sell mainly Italian, Chinese or local cuisine. The hotel isn't far from the AVIS depot (not open Saturday afternoon or Sunday) if you wanted to hire a car to do a round the island trip of Tahiti Iti. There was a mini supermarket located at the Shell petrol station. Locals mainly speak French or Tahitian. Good to come armed with a few French phrases and make an effort to speak French. Sometimes this isn't enough though as some hardly know any English.

Would only stay here for the night if transiting to other islands. Main reason we stayed here was that it was easy to walk to the ferry terminal to catch the ferry to Moorea.

Only a 15 minute walk up from the dock, we chose this place as a transition between arrival by boat and departure by plane.

It was modern and clean with well appointed rooms and comfortable beds. We had already read about the gas station being next door so we asked and got a room at the rear of the hotel, looking at the mountains. Very quiet.

At $33.00 USD pp, we avoided the hotel's breakfast buying croissants, cold meats, cheese and palmiers, at the same gas station right next door for breakfast in our room and had enough left over to take with us for our self guided tour around Papeete.

The staff were friendly and spoke English, though we didn't need it since I spoke French. Asking for a hotel umbrella, one of the receptionists lent us hers as the hotel didn't have any to lend out. Well done to her.

We'd recommend this hotel with the above caution about noise. It's an easy walk to all that matters in the downtown area. It's also a $35.00 USD cab ride to the airport.

Room Tip: Convenient and easy walking distance (even with our large suite case) from the ship dock.
