Some very interesting displays but appears historical displays may deteriorate due to lack of funding.
I would recommend all to visit and maybe donate a little extra at the door.

Nice walk in Thurston gardens to get to the museum. Enough to see to give an appreciation of Fijian history and air conditioning in the shop provided good relief from the humidity.

There are not too many cultural attractions in Fidji so this one Ua pleasant distraction from beaches and sun. Although simple the museum is quite nice and informative and we particularly appreciated the historical section as well as the one on large boats. It may take one hour or so to tour the exhibition.

It is one of the greatest sites to see as it will unfold the true picture of local Fijian History. It clearly gives you information first on hand about their culture, beliefs and stores about the Fijian origin.

From old photographs to a full sized war canoe, the Fiji Museum covers the gamut of Fiji's history from the times before Western contact when cannibalism was part of the culture and warfare with neighboring Tonga an on-going thing through the arrival of the Western visitors, missionaries, Colonial days and down to modern times. A must visit place for those coming to Suva.
