“Site of the annual Hibiscus Festival”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

This year was out first Hibiscus Festival in Suva. It was a mix of attractions with ferris wheels, food stalls and handicraft display and sales areas. There was something for everyone. Music performances entertained young and old with both traditional Fijian and western classic selections. The best time to go was at night where the lights from the different rides and booths gave the grounds a magical feeling.

“Not really for tourists”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

Not so much a tourist destination on its own; but if there is some sort of festival being held, like the Hibiscus Festival, or a good rugby match, then it could be worth seeing. Be warned, for the festivals, be aware of your surrounding for pickpockets, and also be careful in eating the vendor food. I have a stomach of steel, having eaten off the street all over Asia, Mexico, etc., but many people every year around town complain about the food making them sick. Just something to keep in mind.

“Walk past to the botanical gardens”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

Albert Park is a huge open space just off the sea front. its a place that residents of Suva use - all day every day - for sports, celebrations, meetings and fairs. But it is not a tourist destination. Tourists should keep on walking south, cross Ratu Cakabou Street and go into Thurston Gardens, Suva's gorgeous botanical garden with huge lush trees and plants. And you could visit the museum which is in the gardens.

“Nice place to play sports”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

Isn't quite a tourist attraction - unless they have a interest in sports . Its an area where national events take place - After all its located in Suva: The capital of Fiji. A very busy venue

It doesnt quite have that WOW factor - yet though.
