“aerage food; high price; slow service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

Beautiful setting over a manmade lake in the mountains above Suva. However, the beautiful setting is mired by a few things, including food which is average, and many times varies in quality between visits; relatively high prices considering what you are getting; and slow service. We have been several times, and getting a drink refill has been nearly impossible. You will have to drive quite a bit to get here, which is why the quality is so disappointing.

“Good place to stop for a drink”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2012

Sit and relax with a drink and enjoy the view of the lake which was once a quarry. Attentive staff and simple but effective menu.

“tranquility in Suva”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2012

Peaceful, tranquil place by the lake. The food is tasty and you are close to Colo-i-suva. We love walking into the park and then enjoying a lovely lunch at Raintree Lodge

“Raintree Lodge”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2012

Perhaps it was a change of management or in transition when I was there with friends, but I did not enjoy the food. To select a site far away from the City Centre, like Raintree Lodge, they ought to offer something special in its menu and quality of its food and, in addition, maintain that reputation as well as continually, that same momentum. U slack off and the decline can be rapid. Customers are willing to travel afar and spend. Quality and reputation must be in total synergy.

“Wow.... could not be more offensive, rude or worse food in Suva!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2010

A place that can even screw up french fries. Food was undercooked ( like sausages served to the children) and my sesame crumbed tuna was burnt and served with under cooked fries that were over salted. The food was bad. But the owner was worse.

To be fair - the staff were polite but very slow. We had 6 children from 6 months to 4 years and 5 adult woman. Upon leaving the owner told us we were 'never to come back to his hotel', that our 'children were disgraceful - just look at them'. Could anyone be ruder? They are two years old! Had the food been served in a timely manner ( not 45 min later) and been cooked then they would have caused less distruption. Why have a childrens menu if you clearly are a heartless old man with nothing better to do than read your paper and scorn at people spending money in your deserted restaurant?

The whole experience was crap food, served slow and an owner that was a grumpy old man. No wonder to us why the place was so empty!
