Don't be swayed by the rather drab Devore in this restaurant - it was one of the best Indian meals I have had in ages. The food was very tasty and the curries were not as heavy as some of the other Indian restaurants. My children have had butter chicken all around the world, and they think this one was the best they have had (other than being a bit more spicy than normal). Highly recommended.

Very nice authentic indian food, a little spicy for normal taste buds i must admit but a definite must for indian curry lovers.

This place is great. Located in the former city hall, it's opposite one of the most popular local drinking holes (Bad Dog). But it never seems too busy & the staff are just lovely (pretty relaxed, but you're in Fiji, so that's how it is).

But the food's what you come for.

I still haven't found a dish that I haven't loved, so I struggle to recommend any particular dish (except for the Masala pappadums, which are a must). Try anything that you like the sound of & I'm pretty sure it will be authentic & scrumptious.

At lunch they'll do $8-$15 plates (check out the photocopied A4 sheet at the door on your way in) which are a great deal - you can choose a vegetarian or meat version & get a soup, two curries , rice & pappadums on your plate.

After 2 months in Suva, this is still my favourite Indian restaurant & a little less "glam" (but just as tasty) as Maya Dhaba (further down Victoria Pde & also great place to eat).

The staff are wonderful and will help with ordering, the setting is quirky and very intimate (teeny tiny but lovely) and the food is fresh and delicious. Too often Indian food outside India is homogenous and the wonderful distinct flavours are missing, its just another piece of meat or vegetable in the same gravy.

Here at Ashiyana however, each dish is full of distinct flavour, the gosht shik kebab is a favourite. A Suva eating highlight!
