“Fijian food in Suva center”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

Good traditional Fijian food, nice setting and location. The food is displayed at the counter, so it's just microwave heated. Therefore not as nice as freshly made, but quick ;)

“an old favourite”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

This place is a constant contender for best local fijian food in Suva. It is simple but tasty comfort food. At lunch time it fills up quickly with goverment workers and expats from ngo's and it feels a bit like a staff cantine, but a very good one. The prices are fair and the tables on the veranda nice and cool with a breeze. Try the Kokonda, marinated fish in coconut or the Palusami, taro leaves cooked with coconut. Real Fijian food hard to find in hotel restaurants.

“My favorite lunch spot in Suva”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

The Restaurant, sometimes called "Mary's" by old timers, has been the spot for locals from Government buildings and nearby offices for lunch for decades, But you won't get a hamburger there. What you wlll get are local Indian and Fijian dishes that you don't see much outside of the homes. The dishes are laid out for you to pick up as you pass by and pay at the end for what you picked up. Always full at lunch time and always good food at very reasonable prices. If you want to try real local food, this is the place.

“Just a cantine”
Reviewed September 15, 2012

not very clean, a cantine like restaurant but tasty. You have the choice between curry food or fidjian food. Have a fresh coconut and drink the juice then eat it one of the rare places where you can eat on a terasse
