“Great value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2014

Have been a regular visitor to Daikoku in Suva and find that it's a great place to enjoy a decent sushi and tepanyaki in an ambient setting. Traveling regularly between Los Angeles and Suva, I find Daikoku Great value for $$ for special occasions or just a quiet dinner with loved ones! Parking is convenient and right in the middle of Suva CBD and walking distance to hotels ect. Always great to make prior bookings!

“Good value!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

We tried the avocado roll, the pork dumplings and the spicy chicken tepanyaki. We loved it all. We both had a soda with the meal, along with steamed rice and the total cost was $40 Fijian. Very well priced. Good ambiance. The restaurant wasn't that busy, but it seems that they strongly prefer that you make a reservation. The chef cooked in front of us, but it seemed like you get a better "show" if you are in a large group, in my opinion.

Thank you very much for dining at Daikoku Restaurant.
We remind all staff that cooking is our primary service, entertainment is additional service. Both are important, but if main part is neglected because of their half-trained show, we advise them to concentrate on cooking first. Entertainment still depends on their personal effort. We keep reminding our Teppan-Yaki Team to practice entertainment part as well as cooking part to reach up to the professional standard without neglecting cooking, it takes time, though.

“Always make a visit to Daikoku when in Suva”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

Plum wine with soda, Sashimi, and meat tepanyaki for two (comes with the salad and miso soup), plus ginger fish and sauteed scallops. All fabulous. I am allergic to crustaceans and after I let them know they took care to cook the prawns for my dining companion last (actually on a separate grill from mine).
I prefer the atmosphere of the Suva one to Nadi for some reason - more cosy perhaps, and there used to be a slight price difference too with Suva being cheaper.
