“Perfect place to relax”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

Stayed 6 Nights. No television, radio or telephone in the room, total peace and quiet. Fabulous!! Room was large, clean and bright with a great view of the ocean from the balcony. Lagoon is great for snorkelling and kyaking but that is all, sand stops at the water's edge. Sandy beaches are hard to find anywhere on the main island it seems. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Food and facilities more than adequate. Excellent value for the price, would not hesitate to return.

We stayed at the Bedarra Beach Inn for 2 nights. I chose Bederra based on all the great reviews online. The staff are fantastic, very welcoming and always down for a chat. Especially Johnathan, he was the best! The food was also great, nice variety and quite cheap. I would definately recommend eating here.
We stayed in a standard double room which was nice and basic however we were not aware that this was located right in the main area (Reception/restaurant) which ment we could hear all the noise till closing time. At night they would have music playing and all the guest. We would get woken up bright and early at 7am when they open up. So if you would like peace and quiet, do not book the standard room in the main area.
They also offer snorkelling gear which is handy.
The outrigger is just a 10 minute walk, which is where we used the pool and their facilities. If you get a chance, must check this out its very nice.
Overall this is a great place to stay for 2-3 nights in Fiji.

We only stayed for one night but would have stayed longer if our plans had allowed. The hotel is very nicely done in both the public areas and the rooms. The staff was very kind and outgoing. Dinner was great with live music as well. The beach is pretty and turned out to be a very neat place for snorkelling - only small coral reefs but tons of smaller life that you might otherwise never see. We felt that the rooms were very reasonably priced for the quality provided. Good place for families!

I stayed at the Bedarra Beach Inn for 4 nights at the beginning of April. From the moment I arrived till the second I departed I was looked after like a VIP - every member of the hotel's staff were welcoming, warm, helpful and friendly. My room was a standard, double bedroom and it was spacious, clean and very comfortable. There was even a water cooler system in my room.
The food at the restaurant was delicious and I recommend that you try the Fijian dishes - especially the coconut pancake rolls and the bananas in lolo. Compared to other hotels on the main island, the drinks are reasonably priced and there is a nice vibe around the bar in the evenings.
The grounds are immaculate - the groundsmen are there every day working on keeping everything clean and tidy.
I also went to the spa for a massage, some waxing and an eyelash tint and the treatments were fantastic and again reasonably priced.
This is a fantastic place to stay in Fiji.

End of March 2013 we stayed 3 nights for a nostalgic trip back to Fiji after many years. I chose Bedarra for location: half way between Nadi and Suva and also because of their good reviews. I was sooo pleased I did! The staff are wonderful; genuinely warm, interested and helpful so it felt like staying at a good mate's house! Our flight was delayed and as the kitchen had closed by the time we arrived, they had already prepared a complimentary tray of warm rolls, cheese and tomatoes to keep us going until the morning. The dining area was lovely, overlooking the pool and then the reef beyond and as mentioned by others, the food was great, very reasonable and great quality; the rooms were spacious; we had 3 adults in 1 room but it had loads of space, with a huge bathroom. There was also free use of reef shoes, snorkelling equipment & complimentary foot massage which is a great touch and very different to most resorts so that all went down a treat. The Reception staff had organised for the wonderful Pillay to collect us from the airport and on another day he took us in to Suva (approx 2 hours away) on a mission to find my old house and wasn't going to leave without doing so which was terrific as I was going to give up looking much earlier! I would recommend being collected from the airport by the Bedarra taxi staff, Pillay and Redi as they were terrific and their prices very reasonable. The staff were super organised and as our flight was delayed from Sydney they dealt with the taxi details very quickly and rearranged times etc. We stayed as a family with 2 "grown up" children and were meeting up with our son who had been volunteering in Fiji. The hotel staff all seemed genuinely pleased to see him arrive and gave him a terrific welcome when he finally reached us! We all loved the place and would definitely go back; I can't understand the review that didn't love this place. If you want a raucous boozy holiday with TV watching etc then this would NOT be the place for you, but if you want a genuine welcome, you will get it here. Thank you so much for making a really special holiday for us so much better, especially all the Reception staff who were really wonderful. Vinaka and we really want to go back and soon!

Room Tip: WE stayed in a deluxe on the first floor but my son stayed in one very near the bar which was suppos...

During April 2013 we had 8 nights in the Bedarra and enjoyed every moment of our stay. The Bedarra is ideally located about 15 minutes drive from Sigatoka and just off the Queens highway and right on the coast. This being the Coral Coast you have a fine sand beaches and with a sheltered lagoon formed by the coral reef some distance off shore. The Bedarra is about 20 metres from the beach and just in front of the beach is a large grassy area which is owned by the hotel and has reclining loungers provided. Here you can pass your time in shade or sun if you do not feel too energetic.
The standards of service are truly excellent, with some of the most obliging staff that we have encountered, you will get a friendly Bula (hello) when you meet or pass a staff member.
The rooms are a good size and generally have a garden or lagoon view although those with the lagoon view do not have a clear view of the lagoon as there are palm trees in the grassy area in front of the beach. This is not one of your ultra modern glass and stainless steel buildings which are often souless, but an establishment full of character and nicely kept gardens with colourful flowers and bushes.
We chose to hire a car at Nadi and drove to the Bedarra, but there are plenty of other transport options from Nadi, including a shuttle provided by the Bedarra itself which will transport you to and from the airport. If you want a relaxing hotel/beach holiday you do not need a car as there is always a taxi waiting in the Bedarra car park to transport you locally. We wanted to see some of the island, visiting Suva, Lautoka & Nadi and the Bedarra proved ideally located for these trips. Be aware that virtually all of the roads that penetrate the interior are not paved and your hire car insurance will not usually cover you for such roads.
The Bedarra resturant is also very good and we chose to eat there most nights but if you feel you need a change there are a number of resturants nearby all within walking distance. Many will come to the Bedarra to collect and return you by car and the Bedarra is happy to arrange this where applicable.
The hotel has a spa as an integral part of the complex, with two young ladies who will massage your stresses and strains away!
For us the question is as always, would we return to this hotel on a future trip to Fiji, the answer would be a resounding yes.

There are a number of large, commercialised resorts in Fiji. If you're after this type of holiday experience then Bedarra Beach Inn is not for you.

If on the other hand you're the kind of person who enjoys a boutique style, highly personalised, excellent value for money type experience, then you will not go wrong here.

This 27 room establishment is positioned perfectly in the heart of the coral coast, just metres away from the beach and protected tidal lagoon.

We wanted to stay somewhere that offered non bustling, overly organised rest and relaxation for a reasonable price and Bedarra Beach Inn fulfilled this in every way.

Mostly we chose to do nothing other than chill out in the very comfy recliners at the beach or pool. In fact we often only stirred to swim, order yet another exotic cocktail or consult the Ebb Tide Cafe lunch menu. What bliss!

When we felt inclined however we also explored the lagoon reef, wading through it's shallow waters at low tide and taking in its wonders by snorkelling when deeper.

Of particular note is the fact that we could use the hotel's reef shoes, snorkelling equipment, canoes etc at no extra cost. It would seem this is often not the case at other resorts.

Although we chose not to do so, if you want to venture further afield, a variety of local attractions and activities within easy distance await your visitation. The staff are only too happy to assist one with organising these.

Bedarra Beach Inn personifies genuine Fijian hospitality and without a doubt a highlight for us was the welcoming, always friendly, can-do attention from all the staff. They were all fantastic all the time!

One can often pick up good package deals to resorts only to find that one ends up paying extortionate additional prices for food, drinks and facilities offered. This does not happen at Bedarra. Of special note is the fantastic cuisine offered at its two restaurants, at prices that will pleasantly surprise you every time. In fact the food was so good at Bedarra that we did not eat anywhere else.

If you're looking for an exceptional value, restful, comfortable and wonderful hotel where one always feels as if one is part of an extended family, both with staff and guests then Bedarra Beach Inn must go to the top of your list.

Vinaka Vakalevu to the whole Bedarra Team!

Room Tip: As with all resorts, rooms close to the pool and path leading from the bar can be more noisy at time...
