Be warned, driving from Nadi to anywhere on the Coral Coast takes up to 2 hours but I reckon Mango Bay was worth the trip. It’s not a slick and commercialized resort like some of the others, but what it lacks in appearance is made up by its personality and staff. It could do with a bit of paint and thicker toilet paper, but that’s part of its charm.
If you want to laze your days away by the pool, or kayak, play volleyball, touch rugby or night time quizzes, with staff that remember your name and skip the rowdy drunk crowds, then this is the place for you.
It still has the spa treatments, a full day of organised activities and tours, but with a smaller, eclectic clientele it seemed friendly and guests of all ages mingled with the really friendly and helpful staff.
If you want a flashy resort with 200 other guests and access to jet skis at $50 and hour then this isn’t the place for you. But, if you want to unwind, read and relax with a smaller crowd of only 30 to 50 people, feeding fish, craft activities, village tours and cooking demonstrations then you’ll love it too.
Oh, and it was the setting for Australia’s 2019 Bachelor in Paradise, so google if you want a quick look!
