The Positives
1. The food is very good though quantities can sometimes be inconsistent
2. The staff are very friendly and seem very genuine
3. Management took a complaint one of our party had against a contractor very seriously and dealt with it.
4. Good value food and drink
5. Bures were clean and comfortable, outdoor showers were something different

Neutral
1. No fridge in Bure or dorms but hotel was always happy to give ice

The Negatives
1. Remote from the road so hard to go anywhere else for shopping using the public transport
2. Dorm was very disorganised at first (too many people vs beds) but was eventually sorted
3. Little "on the water activities", no banana boats rides, no organised snorkelling trips etc
4. If doing the horse riding confirm the safety, two girls of our party had an unfortunate experience of inappropriate behavior with the contacted people providing this. Management took the matter very serious though providing a refund and the matter was ultimately handled to our satisfaction.

Room Tip: Bures 1 and 2 are furtherest from the nightclub for a quieter night

Simple but enjoyable. Slightly too western at times - it is driven for the backpacker market. Would love to see more local fare on the menu ie Lovo. Take you own travel pillow. Staff were wonderful and added to the atmosphere - always welcoming. A small minority (Abo) were willing to try and take advantage of visitors - but this is the same no matter where you travel. They don't advertise 5 star so don't expect it but the vista is stunning.

This resort is actually quite nice as long as you don't expect 5 star resort quality.
The beachfront bure we stayed in was simple, yet nice.
Restaurant has simple but good quality meals that aren't overpriced.
There is no aircon but if you are half smart you realise that if you open up all the windows and allow the cross ventilation design to do its thing then its actually very cool. I actually felt cold one night.

Possibly my only complaints were that the bures were a bit close to the restaurant/bar area so that made it a bit noisy if others were up drinking and that the mosquito nets weren't quite large enough for the bed.

All in all I did like this resort - I've stayed in Uprising which is very similar and they are each as good as the other in my opinion.

Room Tip: Bure's 1 and 10 that are further away from the resturant would be my choice.

My husband and I stayed at Mango Bay Resort at the end April and we have every good thing to say about it! From arrival all the way through to our transfer back to the airport!
Danni and Liz are the most welcoming, loving and hospitable hosts that run and own the resort!! Every member of the team were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic about what they do!
Accommodation was fantastic – we were fortunate enough to spend most nights in the Safari (very spacious and clean) and one night in the sea front bure (Gorgeous and luxurious)
The local fish was my favourite dish but all the food was excellent!
A great crowd of people seem to be attracted to the resort and everyone is friendly and becomes your friend during the course of your stay, if you allow them to be – if you prefer not to then you will not need to be anyone’s friend.. ;-)

Our overall experience of our visit was priceless and Fiji is breath-taking!! The waters are AMAZING and the corals and fish are incredible!
Loved, Loved, Loved our holiday and left feeling very relaxed and refreshed AND would absolutely go back!!!! Hopefully sooner rather than later ;-)

Stayed at Mango Bay for 5 days. I will regret this trip for sometime.
The website photos have obviously been photoshopped as the facilities do not look anywhere as nice.
The rooms are sticky and smelly. The bed and pillows felt damp. Every night I felt itchy in bed. The mozzy net prevents any air flow from the fan above. The pillows are made from stuffing you would find in a toy. There was no room service. I had to ask for toilet paper and towels and still had to wait 24 hours. The 'fresh' towel smelt terrible and was also damp.
The menu was the same all week. Food was edible but certaintly nothing exciting. Most nights something was missing off the plate as they ran out. The service rarely came with a smile or enthusiasm. It was like being there was a hassle.
There was no atmosphere. No nightlife. No activities except a dance group who also seemed to be unhappy.
Be VERY careful about security. Myself and another traveller both witnessed dodgy behaviour by security staff. Make sure your doors are locked at all times!!
Would not recommend this place to anyone. Id rather save my money and go to beach house, warwick or hideaway. Im not even sure id go back to Fiji after experiencing the unwelcome feeling at Mango Bay
