“Perfect Beach”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

We went to Natadola Beach as part of a conference. The sand and water was very clean, scattered with white coral. It looked like a lovely place to swim/snorkel and surf out where the breakers were.

“Loved being there”

Clean,heavenly, white sandy beaches.. I loves the fact that the resorts did not own the beaches and every one had an access to them

“A bit disappointing”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

i read the reviews of Natadola beach so made the effort to take a day trip from our resort. We are really spoiled for beautiful beaches in Australia, so perhaps this is why we found this beach so disappointing. There was sand, but it was not fine, white sand. The water was murky and full of seaweed. My two teenagers who love swimming in the surf refused to swim. There's a guy from the village selling horse riding - he started off by asking for $100 for two girls to ride up the beach, and when we asked another family what they paid, it was $20 each. i know we are meant to bargain, but this still left us with a bad taste. The other family weren't impressed as they asked for a ride only half way up the beach but their daughter was encouraged once away from them to ride further so they could charge her for a full ride. To make matters worse the Intercontinental has built their very expensive and stark looking resort right on the beach. What a shame since this beach was loved by the locals and the place where they would bring their own families for BBQs and dancing and swimming on their holidays, and now they are being squeezed out. Felt like this was a waste of $165 FJ for the taxi from the hotel. Save your money.

“One of the best mainland beaches in Fiji”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

It's one of the best beaches on the main island of Fiji. It's an amazing stretch of white sand, with something to offer any visitor.

Keep the following in mind when preparing for a visit;
- There are no public facilities (toilets, showers, cooking, rubbish bins). So be prepared and remove all your rubbish when you leave.
- There are trees around, providing some shade, but consider taking your own to supplement.
- There are a couple of hotels down one end of the beach, however they are not all too keen on members of the public wandering in to use amenities. Plan on having a coffee or a drink or a pizza if you are wanting to use their amenities.

Sadly, the beach struggles with litter. All too many people don't take their rubbish away with them, so if everyone grabbed an extra bag of rubbish on their way out, it would make a huge difference.

If you're a obvious tourist, you may face a bit of harassment from the local lads selling horse rides along the beach, just make some new friends. (Unless you actually want a ride, in which case, ask around - the first price you're quoted might be a little 'opportunistic'.)
