We have stayed at the hideaway twice now and we are going back may next year to get married ! we love it there sooo much , all the staff are friendly and bubbly , food is amazing , all inclusive package is a must tho , it would be quite pricey without package , the cocktails are to die for , we stayed in the beach front bure and it was so nice waking up every morning and having a coffee watching the waves roll in :) cant wait to take the rest of our friends an family there next year for our wedding .

This was my second trip to the Hideaway - Previously there in December 2008 - We went as three couples and once again what a great place to stay and relax. Staff are without doubt the most caring people and never stop smiling. We did the all inclusive, which I recommend and even the extra we had to pay for when booking out was very reasonable. We had Ocean Front Bure's 42-43-44 - great views and very close to the bar and restaurant - No noises were heard from the late night music at the bar. Its a small resort, no highrise etc - But well and truelly the most relaxing of many I have been to. If your after 5 Star this is not the place, BUT if you just want to relax in clean and tidy conditions, this is the place - We will be back, visit the nearby villages and you will appreciate what YOU have...

Room Tip: The Ocean Front Bure's are a great upgrade - The Frangipani Bure's are set back from the Oce...

We have just returned from a short stay at the Hideaway Resort and on first arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome, arrival drink and genuine hospitality. We quickly settled into our Ocean view bure, whilst it was aged and could have done with a revamp it was very clean and very spacious. The welcome note left by the housekeeper by way of leaves made out to spell Bula Welcome was a pleasant treat. The resort itself was lovely and manicured with a number of different activities spaced out during the day and night. These were entertaining enough though I loved lying in the hammock by the ocean reading a good book. The staff (well most) were friendly and happy to help, always a smile and a 'bula' as they passed. That was until we arrived for breakfast when it took a nose dive south. The buffet was delicious and a good selection of contintental american style delights. Eggs are cooked to your liking and is done by a chef in front of you. I arrived and placed my order with the chef and had a discussion with him regarding how I wanted the order cooked. As I patiently waited with plate in hand, I observed as he cleaned out all 3 pans in preperation for cooking. As I waited another group of 'younger' women arrived, it was here I lost the chef and in turn my order. As he 'joked' and played up to these women who in turn were lapping it up, I stood there all the time wondering when he would start my order. He then proceeded to cook the 3 ladies omeletes and eggs, ignoring me completely. They took their plates and he then moved on to the next group waiting in line. Again completely ignorning the fact that i was standing there right in front of him. I walked away from the buffet and returned without my order to cold bacon and dryed out toast. The rest of the trip went without concern, the meals where of good size though I was surprised when 1 entree of salt/pepper squid (about 6 pieces) and 2 mains of reef and beef chips and salad, 1desser and 2 drinks came to over $160 fijian dollars. Some of the positives though was the snorkelling which we found very delightful, the relaxed atmosphere made destressing very easy. The serenading of the singers during meals was beautiful and they always had a smile and a welcome by name. The staff where great with my teenage son, always interacting and encouraging him to join in. I enjoyed the day spa though my body massage was just the back and head and really non effective. The firewalk and kava ceremony makes for good entertainment and the hungi meal delicious after. All in all, the resort is beautiful and well cared for by staff, its a shame however that certain staff had 'other' things on their minds then ensuring all visitors were made to feel important. I would stay again but would probably upgrade to an ocean front bure that has been updated.

Room Tip: Ocean front villas and bures are more modern in design and have clear view to the ocean

Really enjoyed our 7 all inclusive nights at the Hideaway Resort. Food was great, room with out door shower was nice. Some parts are looking a little tired but the wonderful staff make up for that. Enjoyed going to church at local visit although be prepared for a long service. Great massage next door to the resort where you can also book a horse ride. Wonderful cocktails and just watching the wonderful bar tenders prepare them is fun.

We had a wonderful 12 night stay in June and absolutely loved every minute. We travelled with our friends from Melbourne and they were as happy as we were with our choice. Hideaway was just perfect for us, if you are looking for stuffy 5 star service and over-the-top marble luxury then this is not the place for you, but .... If you like sincere, friendly service and a great, down to earth, cheerful and friendly atmosphere then you won't be disappointed at all. The staff really make the experience, they are so good at what they do, I would have to rate the Fijian people as some of the greatest hosts on the planet - could certainly teach us Australians a thing or two about hospitality. We stayed in the Ocean Front Frangipani Bure, great rooms, really spacious, double doors opening up onto ocean views, hammock chair on balcony and outside bathroom - brilliant! The all inclusive meal and drink package is a must, and a great excuse to enjoy a well deserved holiday refreshment at 10am without feeling guilty. The menu for lunch and dinner changes daily and the quality and variety of the meals is excellent. Daniel is the man to see for great eggs in the morning and Farez does the best curry cooking class sharing his secrets (and bad jokes!). Etta was our appointed baby sitter and was fantastic, it was hard for our little boy to say goodbye! There are no televisions in the room but that is probably one of the best things, gives you time to do some really unusual things .... Like talking to each other, watching the brilliant night sky and the moon over the ocean, reading a book and just escaping the distractions to provide a real break from what is a too hectic world. Thank you to all the team at Hideaway, we are already planning to be back same time in 2014. Keep doing what you are doing and don't change!

we stayed at the Hideaway in May and we really enjoyed it, we upgraded to the beachfront and really glad we did.Although some of the villa's are a bit outdated and need work, the hospitality is fantastic, If you want luxury then go for the deluxe or the beachfront and you will enjoy . if you dont mind your room being outdated then the normal rooms are fine, we just wanted something a bit special and we did get it with the beachfront. The staff are amazing, the food is good and the drinks are ok price wise, they have happy hour which makes it cheaper. but all in all we had fun. we did a few day trips but did it on our own by jumping on the local bus, went to Pacific harbour which was nice and had lunch out. the weather was great and we swam in the sea, laid on the beach and had fun, just relaxed and spent time together, it was the most relaxing holiday that I have had for year, if you want to chill and i mean chill this is the place to go. would most definatley go back

Room Tip: upgrade to the beachfront well worth it !!!

My husband and i stayed at the Fiji Hideaway for 6 nights in the middle of june.
our holiday was amazing, we had a great time. You can do as little or as much as you feel like!
From relaxing by the pool, snorkelling in the crystal clear water, walking through the beautiful, maintained gardens to soaking in the culture of the lovely fijians.
The Hideaway have great shows on in the restaurant every night, very entertaining and very talented performers. The Food is exceptional, with different themed buffet dinners a few nights a week and plenty of delicious choices from the al a carte menu on the other nights.
We stayed in a beachfront bure, it was amazing, very comfortable, more than we expected, with views straight out to the water, sitting in the hammock was sooooo relaxing!
Theres always activities and games going on if you want to join in, like aqua gym, volleyball, bar games, kayaking etc.
The spa has alot to offer, from massages to the hair salon they do a great job.
overall we had a fantastic holiday and cant wait to return!

Room Tip: The Deluxe Beachfront bures are quieter, theres not as many bures up that end. And the beachfront b...
