Just got back to Australia yesterday after staying here for seven wonderful nights. Had a bit of a woopsy on Wednesday morning. Freaky tide wave which resulted in our villa being in the middle of the ocean, with water all through the villa. The staff had no idea it was happening on the waterfront and were WONDERFUL in helping us to deal with it. Promptly evacuating us and cleaning the villa, then evacuating us again that afternoon as it was expected again. Weather event that couldn't be helped. Certainly an experience with a great story for us to tell! Certainly couldn't have paid for that kind of experience. Oh wait, I did! ha ha ha ha Kudos to the staff for acting promptly and looking after our safety. Two Australian women panicking and thinking "tsunami" couldn't have been easy to deal with. :) Thank you so much for making it easy for us. xx Will certainly recommend to all, and be back again. Can't recommend highly enough. :)

Overall, our experience at Hideaway was just wonderful. The staff were GREAT, the accommodation amazing and the view to die for. My only criticism would be that there was FAR too much to do. Had we known, we would have stayed much longer.

I saw a starfish outside our villa for the first time ever (outside of a zoo). I was so excited I squealed and probably woke up all of Fiji. :)

Room Tip: If you can afford, upgrade to Beachside Villa. You won't be disappointed.

We recently stayed 3 nights at the Hideaway Resort in a Frangipani bure. The room was very spacious with a small fridge, lovely outdoor shower plus another inside shower. There is aircon although it hums a bit and a ceiling fan. We had a safe which worked although another guests didn't. Our bed was comfortable and beautifully decorated with 'welcome' made from leaves when we arrived. We had a bure quite a walk from the main restaurant building so it was nice and quiet. Overall our stay was very pleasant even though the weather wasn't always while we were there! We enjoyed kayaking and snorkelling off the beach, and the pool is great with a bubbly spa at one end (not heated) and water slide at the other.
With a bit of effort this resort could be even better but being in Fiji things run on island time or not at all sometimes! For instance we asked for our sliding door into the bathroom to be fixed. They came twice and 'fixed' it, but after that we just made do with only opening it half way otherwise it would jam up completely! We missed the firelighting ceremony the first night as the activity sheet delivered to the room said it was 7pm. Reception told us it was 6pm and they would change the time on the sheet. It still read 7pm when we left 3 days later. These things didn't really matter to us fortunately.
The food was mostly very good and they catered for my gluten free diet even though it meant I had to pay more but this is normal anywhere. We didn't go out from the resort except to Sigatoka shops. The Eco park sounded nice especially if you had children, but fairly pricy at $30 adult for something that only takes about 1/2 hr to look around so we didn't bother. There isn't a whole lot to do in the area really and it's the resort you go for.
If you are driving here, try to arrive in daylight hours as driving on the potholed highway in the dark with no street lights isn't the best! It takes about 1 1/2 hrs from Nadi. We stopped off at Natadola beach on the way back and walked along the nice beach and through the new Intercontinental hotel which was a nice break in the journey.

Room Tip: If you like quiet ask for a room away from main restaurant. We never heard music or traffic noise i...

My family stayed at the Hideaway for 8 nights in a beachfront 2 bedroom bure. It was our first big family holiday and we had a fantastic time. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We booked a babysitter for our 2 boys (under 3) most nights and some days and they had a great time. The beach is beautiful and very clean. We spent most mornings playing on the beach, building sand castles and during low tide, walking through the water looking at the fish and coral - we also found Nemo and Dory, amongst other fish, right off the beach. It was great for the children. We also did a horseride along the beach and up the mountain during sunset - it was fantastic. The pool is a good size and also has a slide to entertain the children. Every night they have entertainment during dinner that was so good to watch that we got our boys from the babysitter early so they could experience the native dancers and singers. I would recommend the Hideaway to everyone and will be going back as soon as baby number 3 is old enough.

Room Tip: If you're travelling with Children get the 2 bedroom bure's..... it's worth it.

My husband and I spent 10 fabulous days at the hideaway, it was amazing, we had a bure, it was pure indugence, i took advantage of the spa and other activities while my husband spent time learning to scuba, it was so worth it and I would go back in a heart beat.

The menu is varied and very good, the staff were friendly and they really seem to enjoy their jobs. We also attended a church service at the local church and were really made to feel welcome and part of the family.

Room Tip: Go for one of the Bure's they are not family friendly but they are perfect for a couple wanting...

We had a lovely week at Hideaway. We stayed in a Beachfront Deluxe Bure (303). Bed was large and comfortable, room clean, quiet and serene. The reef is situated right out the front of the resort so its only a short walk to some excellent snorkeling in pristine water. The only issue with the room was that our neighbors were smokers. As it was a shared verandah separated by half a wall, the smoke came into our room so we had to keep the doors closed and time our visits to the verandah between cigarettes! If you are bothered by toxic nicotine fumes then be sure to ask for a non smoking room. They also allow smoking round the pool. The food was good. Servings are small to medium sized if ordering from the menu instead of the "special" of the night. Breakfast buffet was excellent. All staff were happy, polite and helpful. What more could you ask? Thanks Hideaway for a 20th wedding anniversary memory we will treasure. Thanks also for the special gifts. We only left the resort twice, once for a Captain Cook 1 day boat cruise to Tivola Island. It took 2.5 hours to get to Denaru harbor and 2.5 hours to get back after the cruise but the cruise and the island were lovely and good fun. Lunch was plentiful and delicious. On another day we did the Zipline. It was fun and the staff were lovely but overpriced at AUD $110. It took less than a hour to do it and did not include lunch, only light refreshment after completion.

Room Tip: Room 303 was great.

Thank you so much My Holiday Centre (My Fiji) for a great all inclusive package to the Fiji Hideaway Resort & Spa for 7 nights. We went as a family of 4 (two boys, 2yr & 5yr) during the NSW April school holiday period and it wasn't too crowded (i hear christmas is very busy), 3 1/2 star rated resort was perfect for us (i'm no 5 star wanna be). It was clean, the staff were nice and we were well fed. Having the 'all inclusive' deal was great as we didn't have to worry about what the bill was going to be at the end of our stay. There are somethings around the resort that might be old & run down but you can notice that the resort is attempting to make improvements. I would consider returning to this resort again with my family.

Room Tip: Try get a room with an outdoor shower, nice experience to shower under the stars and the kids though...
