Having read all the excellent reviews for this resort we held high hopes for it - and generally weren't disappointed. Rather than restate all the good things about it (of which there were many) I will play Devil's Advocate a little and point out the (not very bad) downsides
It's a long way from the airport, over 1 1/2 hours by taxi.
The beach isn't very good (but the pool is big). You can only snorkel one hour before and after high tide.
If you're there for Christmas, don't spend the FJ$ 72 pp on the buffet - it's not worth it. Better to order off the a la carte menu (which they discourage but is much better value).
Service is a little slow (I know, I'm in Fiji, but when your wine doesn't come until you're halfway through desert it's a bit too long...)
Having said all the above, it's a very pleasant place to stay. The staff are all very friendly and try to keep you entertained. We stayed a week and didn't feel the need to leave the resort (yes, we're lazy).
If you have kids (we don't) they will be well looked after and kept amused and busy all day and into the evening.
Rooms were big, food was pretty good and reasonably varied (I would compare it to good pub food).
Overall I would reccommend Hideaway Resort, if you're looking for a friendly relaxing no-frills kind of place.
