Outrigger resort was so great from start to finish I didn't want to leave. All the staff make you feel so very welcome , the food , entertainment and facilities are 5 star and the day spa is one of the best ive been to. The therapists are all so fantastic and words can't even describe The view from up there its picture perfect . 10/10 from me highly reccomended

The Outrigger is an incredibly beautiful resort with very friendly staff and excellent food from an award winning executive chef.

We had a fantastic do nothing break there and I have been dreaming of going back ever since. If you have kids go there. Kids club is free and open all day. For babysitting you get assigned a sitter for the duration of your stay. Kids eat a varied menu for free which really adds up. There are the usual resort activities mostly involving the pool.

We found 95% of the staff to be really outstanding, there were a few bad apples, but that's life.

There are some absolutely fantastic deals at the moment due to the low occupancy rates due to the coup. Take advantage, Fiji is known for being constantly in a coup. They are non violent coups and landing in Nadi and going straight to the resort you are never anywhere near Suva which is the capital and where any trouble is.

There are some areas they could improve:

Some of the rooms are still unrenovated. You seem to have to ask for a renovated room. The renovated rooms are fantastic, (see the web) with flat-screen TVs, pillow-top beds and nice furnishings. For some reason the front desk staff repeatedly put people in the old rooms. If you feel like you are back in 1985 when you get to your room, ring the desk and get a new one. I don't know why they kept doing this, particularly as the hotel is running at 25% capacity due to the coup.

There are no cheap eating options in the resort itself, they want you to spend $US20 per person per meal at a minimum, the Fijian by comparison has a casual cafe by the pool with $5 burgers etc. Having said that right next door along the beach are a number of cheap cafe's selling $US2 beers and $US5 snacks. If you don't mind the short walk (literally 20m along the sand) you can mix and match for any budget or taste. (The Bedarra Inn has nice food for about half the price, but you would not want to stay there).

The pool is a little cool for cooler days and there is no hot-tub, but this is same as the Fijian. Watch the slippery pavers surrounding the pool, people are constantly coming to grief on them.

I can only imagine that a lot of the complaints I read on this site re: the food relate to when the place is flat out busy, we had very good dining experiences, particularly at Ivy, but even at the regular restaurant the food was really good. It is empty at the moment. Even the pizza and coffee were good.

For our first real holiday in 8 years we were very happy with the Outrigger. Everyone was so friendly and helpful it was great.
The room we stayed in was a Ocean Breeze 1 bedroom suite and it was fantastic just what we wanted. The butler service was a real surprise too.
The food was great even for our toddler very happy.
We will go back again for sure, next time for longer!
Thanks to all at Outrigger.

My husband and I stayed at the outrigger last week and had a fabulous holiday here. I found the premises to be stunning, the hotel room was gorgeous and modern (and I am FUSSY!!!) staff so friendly and helpful. It is not a gorgeous beach but i was aware of that before booking. It is ok but certainly not the aqua water, white sand beach you get on an island.
The outrigger is perfect for a resort experience and allows plenty of activities so that you can do as much or as little as you like.
Food is very expensive but i think that would be the same anywhere you stay!

My family and I had the best stay at the Outrigger on the Lagoon, Fiji. What can I say about the staff , they are the most beautiful, fantastic, friendly people I have ever meet and it is the people who work in the resort that made our stay very memorable. We stayed in a plantation bure and it was beautiful and the bed was the best. The food was excellent and if you go you must dine at the Ivi Restaurant excellent. The kids club has wonderful staff and my daughter looked forward to it each day. Bebe spa was beautiful, so relaxing and the coffee up there was great. The resort has a doctor that comes in every morning which was a great help to us as our baby became unwell after our first day and she carries all medications needed. We loved our holiday it was the best we have ever had, so relaxing and we are already planning our trip back to the Outrigger next year but for longer, as 9 days for us was not enough.
