My husband and I went to Fiji for our honeymoon and we stayed at the Outrigger on the Lagoon. It was the best experience we have ever had. The staff was so friendly, welcoming and helpful that we were sad to leave. We had the talai service delivered to our room daily and any requests that we had were done right away. Huge pool! The restaurants are a bit overpriced but we rented a car so we took small trips to Sigatoka for other restaurants, however, do dine at least once at Ivy... it's the best! The Bebe Spa is beyond relaxation! My husband and I loved it so much that we went a couple of times. We also went to the bar above the Spa. The lady up there makes some really good drinks and she's very friendly. The resort has a lot of families staying there for their vacation and even has kids movie nights, but if you're looking to see beyond that, you will love your experience at the Outrigger, the staff will see to it.

We have just returned from a week at the Outrigger on the Lagoon, Fiji. The resort is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. We stayed in the ocean breeze bure (bungalow). We had booked the plantation bure and when we arrived we were upgraded to the ocean breeze bure. we had 2 double beds in our room. There was 3 of us. I highly recommed the bures. The staff were so friendly and each afternoon my husband and I were treated to complimentary champagne and canapes in our room. My son, 6 yrs old, received a soft drink. Then at about 8pm, we were given night caps and another canapes. Along with free bottles of water.
The resort has a kids club that caters for ages 3 to 12. My son loved the kids club and cannot wait for us to return again next year. All acitivities are within the resort. They range from snorkelling, to discos, to crab hunting, fish feeding, swimming, etc. The kids do not get bored.
It is very safe and the resort has everything you need. No need to leave the resort unless you really want to.
We asked for full breakfast inclusion in our accomodation package and we're glad we did as the food in the resort is a little pricey. Having said that, the food choices were very good. There are 4 restaurants within the resort. There are also a couple of restaurants next to the resort (just walk along the beach to get to them). The food there was very cheap and also very nice. I recommend the curry beef with rice and roti.
I also recommend hiring a taxi from this place as it is a lot cheaper that hiring a taxi from the resort.
If you have a chance, visit Natadola beach (which is classified as the 7th best beach in the world). We took a taxi there for the day and it cost us $90 fiji dollars but it was worth it. We also stopped on the way back to eat seafood at Vilisites restaurant in Saratoka, which is also a must. The place does not look like much but the food was very delicious and very well priced. The taxi just waited until we finished our food and then took us back to the resort. So not bad for $90 Fijian dollars for a taxi for the day.
The resort has the BEBE spa. If you don't want a massage just go up there for a drink as they also have a bar room. It is on top of the mountain overlooking the resort and the beach. We watched the sunset. It was breathtaking. We were invited for cocktail drinks and we also took a tour of the spa area. We then decided to book a couples massage which they call 'romantic discovery'. You are given a glass of champagne along with a fruit platter. You then spend 30 minutes in a milk bath on the balcony overlooking the beach. Then you each get an hour massage. It was devine. When we left the spa we felt so relaxed. I highly recommend it. The resort also has babysitting. It is $10 for the first hour, or $7 each hour for more than 1 hour. We hired a babysitter for our son, and she just took him to the kids club and then to the games room. So atleast we knew our son was being looked after while we were in the spa treatment area.
The kids club staff are so friendly and so energetic and they make all the kids feel welcomed. They somehow remembered all of the kids names.
I could go on and on about this place. It is about 90 minutes drive from Nadi airport.
We are back home but cannot stop thinking about the resort and the wonderful friendly staff. We are definitely going back.

We have just returned from one of the best family holidays in a long while. The outrigger was better than expected. We have two teenagers who had a terrific time. We had two separate ocean view rooms with beautiful ocean views and the Tali butler service was a bonus with champage, soft drinks and canapes every evening. THe food vouchers were a great saver and the breakfast terrific. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the bebe spa just fab. I cannot fault this beautiful resort.

This is a fantastic resort with exceptionally friendly staff!!!! A great place to go and relax. I would recommend the food package though as meals & drinks are quite expensive.

Bula, we have just returned from our Fiji Wedding. 30 people from Australia came with us and had a week of fun and excitement. Though it rained some days most of our guests had a wonderful time hiring motor scooters and visiting villages etc.
Preevena, our wedding co ordinator was wonderful and helped us in every way to have a memorable day.... week!
We had an ourdoor wedding and got married near the pool area with a beautiful rock and coconut palm background. And because I brought my wonderful photographer Suzette Nesire from Melbourne with me our photographs are just fantastic. We ventured into the pool and sat on a group of rocks ad the background is very tropical. Kathy O'keefe from yamba NSW is a talented hairdresser and as a great mate she did my hair and made me look stunning.
Everyone loved their rooms, the sevrice and the happy friendly people who make this resort a wonderful place to relax and unwind.
We will be back!

We booked 7 nights at outrigger through an agent and made extensive enquiries to ensure the dietry needs of our child could be accomdated (Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Egg Free).

We received assurances all could be accomodated. It wasnt.

Without boring all with the detail we took a 5 yo and and 18 month toddler and we would like to share a few do's and donts from our experience.

DONT
Buy meal vouchers before checking what you're getting, Vale Ni Kana is the only place to eat.
Expect 5 Stars, the surroundings are a good 4.5 and it goes backward from there, meals are 3 with some 4 at best.
Expect that when the staff nod and smile that they've actually understood what you have said.
Expect to be entertained for more than 3 - 4 days unless your sole intent is to lounge around the pool.
Drink the wine and if you have too send it back if its tingly on your tongue its probably off..
Assume the kids club is entertaining, I am astounded, if it wasnt for the kids wanting to play together there was very little else of interest.
Spend time listening to Uncle Jim. Get Me, if you've been you'll know what i mean if you havent save yourself the time.
Assume your luggage is safe in the storage area
Wait 40 minutes for the $28 souffle at IVI, its a tiny self saucing chocolate pudding, yummy but not souffle.
Pay $300 for two to eat at IVI, get to any quality Melbourne restaurant and eat twice as well for 1/2 the price

DO
Go cashed up $10.50 for a beer $30 for a 1/2 hour horse ride along the beach with a 5 yo on an mildly emaciated pony.
Utilise the nanny service, we had a great experince.
Check you account at regular intervals, we had additonal charges of more than $1000 after 3 days and more additional charges every time we checked.
Go to Sigatoka with a local and experience the local culture.
Expect to get stomach problems, everyone we spoke to in the resort had diorrhea some if not all the time.
Escalate to management if you need to get an outcome, whilst the staff are attentive they are not empowered to make decisions.
Take a camera, it's very pretty

We had the unfortunate expeirence of poor weather and as a result the beach was closed the entire time we stayed. This meant 80% of the free activities were unavailable, no fault of anyone at the resort but it did highlight the lack of options available in such circumstances.

Holiday from Hell, not quite. Enjoyable, not really.

The buzz from those who had done both was get to the islands, Treasure and Plantation were two of those mooted.
