We did this tour in October 2012, it was a fantastic experience. We took our 7 yr and 5 yr old boys. They had the most magical day being spoilt by the village people and experiencing village life first hand. I was however very disappointed in the amount of Karva our driver had. After all, Karva does slow your reaction times and you are in a jet speed boat with my precious boys and other little people. I would recommend doing the tour but as I say I was disappointed that our driver had as much Karva as he did, you could see that he was more than relaxed and I was very nervous about the safety of our children. Worth every cent this tour and what's even more pleasing is that a good amount of the money goes back to the villages that they frequent.

Bula Tammie P,

First of all a big vinaka vakalevu to you for choosing to come on Safari during your stay in Fiji and for joining the Safari family, we always enjoy hearing from our friends with their views of their experience.

We thank you for the wonderful words of support and recollections of your experience in your village. We are heartened to read that you all enjoyed the experience overall and appreciate the comments regarding how simply by going on tour you have helped the people of the interior.

We also thank you for sharing your views on what you thought was a negative. We at all times welcome all feedback as we see it as a constructive way to improve, tweak or alter the experience for the betterment of our friends. I wish to convey our apologies in regards to your view that the Captain consumed too much of the 'Fijian milkshake' otherwise known as yaqona or kava. We understand your views/concern and will share these with the Captains and ensure that they are conscious of their kava consumption and adhere to the company policy, which states they may consume 1 or 2 bowls as a sign or respect (cultural and traditional obligations).

On behalf of all your friends here at Sigatoka River Safari we thank you for coming out on Safari and we hope that we will see you again soon in Fiji.

Lolomas (regards) from Sigatoka

Visited Fiji mid March and had the opportunity to do the Sigatoka River Safari. We were told when we went to Fiji if we didn't do anything else to make sure we did this. They were not wrong, we had the best day out of the Resort and in the real Fiji.
The boat ride up the river with Captain Jack (who has been to Dubbo!) was a very informative ride. Our visit to the village was fantastic, learning the culture and how the village people live in a very caring environment. The children in the village are just beautiful.
And the boat trip back down the river was a great experience also.
Highly recommend this great day out for all the family. We had two boys with us aged 3 and 18 mths and they had a fantastic day.

This trip is the perfect mix of excitement, adventure, fun and contemporary Fijian culture! The jet boat is a thrill, with really beautiful scenery, and is a wonderful way to travel to the village! The trip to the village is interesting, informative, culturally enriching and thankfully not too contrived. This is a brilliant day trip, and while by no means cheap, it is the perfect way to escape the resort and see the real Fiji! One for all the family!

This was by far the best part of our week in Fiji. The jet boat journey was interesting, but nothing super special. However the village visit for 2-3 hours was fantastic. We all had a great time with the people of the village, with the dancing being a highlight. All of the kids of the tour and the village played together and ran wild for ages - there were tears when we had to depart. My daughter asked a few times when she could go back and see her "good friends."

When you go to Fiji make sure that you head to Sigatoka for the adventure you will not forget.... We had Captain Jack Sparrow (aka Josh) take us on our safari and village tour.... Just beware of his BULAshit lol... Have you all seen the movie AVATAR.... i shall not say anymore... The 2 hours we spent in the village were well worth it as you are welcomed as you are family and treated to a fantastic Fijian lunch just the way they do it every day... Then you return to the boat and have some spins and flicks before you finish for the day.... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
