We did this tour in October 2012, it was a fantastic experience. We took our 7 yr and 5 yr old boys. They had the most magical day being spoilt by the village people and experiencing village life first hand. I was however very disappointed in the amount of Karva our driver had. After all, Karva does slow your reaction times and you are in a jet speed boat with my precious boys and other little people. I would recommend doing the tour but as I say I was disappointed that our driver had as much Karva as he did, you could see that he was more than relaxed and I was very nervous about the safety of our children. Worth every cent this tour and what's even more pleasing is that a good amount of the money goes back to the villages that they frequent.
Bula Tammie P,
First of all a big vinaka vakalevu to you for choosing to come on Safari during your stay in Fiji and for joining the Safari family, we always enjoy hearing from our friends with their views of their experience.
We thank you for the wonderful words of support and recollections of your experience in your village. We are heartened to read that you all enjoyed the experience overall and appreciate the comments regarding how simply by going on tour you have helped the people of the interior.
We also thank you for sharing your views on what you thought was a negative. We at all times welcome all feedback as we see it as a constructive way to improve, tweak or alter the experience for the betterment of our friends. I wish to convey our apologies in regards to your view that the Captain consumed too much of the 'Fijian milkshake' otherwise known as yaqona or kava. We understand your views/concern and will share these with the Captains and ensure that they are conscious of their kava consumption and adhere to the company policy, which states they may consume 1 or 2 bowls as a sign or respect (cultural and traditional obligations).
On behalf of all your friends here at Sigatoka River Safari we thank you for coming out on Safari and we hope that we will see you again soon in Fiji.
Lolomas (regards) from Sigatoka
