Smugglers Cove Beach Resort & Hotel
Ranked #6 of 25 Hotels in Nadi

I stayed at Smuggler's for three nights in June 2014 after my friend, who lives in Suva, chose the place after having stayed there many times with visitors. I'm so glad she did!

Smuggler's has a very laid back vibe. The grounds are quite large with a restaurant, cafe, pool, souvenir shop and travel desk on-site to take care of anything you need. My friend and I stayed in the 8-bed female dorm, which was clean and spacious with comfortable beds. The room included two bathrooms with a toilet and shower each. The shower was quite cold with low water pressure, but it was still welcome after our long days.

Water sports are included in the price of the stay, although we didn't have time to enjoy them, as we were too busy walking around the city. There are also events different nights of the week, such as a Polynesian dance show and BBQ. It was a quick $8-$10 FJD cab ride into downtown Nadi. The continental breakfast includes cereal, oatmeal, juice, fruit and toast, and the cafe offers hot options for a reasonable fee. We ate dinner most nights at the restaurant, and we both enjoyed the kokoda (white fish marinated in coconut milk), prawn dishes, and curries.

I'd definitely recommend Smuggler's Cove!

Smugglers was exactly what it said in the tin! Basic backpacker friendly accom. My boyf and I stayed in a double room of our own which after shared doorms in Oz was bliss in itself. The room was clean enough the only problem was the hotel was undergoing maintenance work so was a bit noisy on our floor at times. Although the beach wasn't the white sandy ones off the islands the sunset was pretty and there was always entertainment on at night. Plus the breakfast included was nice! You can also book your trips on site which was helpful!

Stayed at Smugglers for 3 nights in an oceanfront room which was amazing value for money. Room was very clean on arrival and serviced every day.

Restaurant has a wide range of food to choose from and are open until 11pm every night. Great atmosphere on the deck with fire dancing and Polynesian dancing held a few nights per week. Free breakfast is an added bonus.

Location was good - right on the beachfront and the bus into Nadi town goes right past the front of the hotel.

There is a bit of noise and music from the bar downstairs that can be heard in the rooms. This is all finished by 11pm though. If you're catching an early morning flight or want an early night then this is not the place to stay.

Had a great stay - definitely more than a hostel!

We booked a week stay and had no regrets. Wonderful friendly staff, always ready to help and engage in conversation and laughter. Our room overlooked the beach, was clean, had a/c, a fridge and king size bed and balcony. Magnificent sunsets, good restaurant and bar offerings with live evening entertainment. Good central location for island hopping and day cruise tours. Easy bus and taxi access. Lively location with backpacker option and other hotels nearby. Great beach for strolling.
What's not to love. Plus, World Cup was on at the bar screen. Bring on the Fiji Bitter!

Room Tip: Late night partying noise was an issue on a couple of nights as our room overlooked the resort beach...

this is a great spot in Nadi - the comfort of this hotel is so welcoming for us we have been twice now and always want to go again. This hotel is a very happening place with sensational food and location to die for ! Every night there is activity and action - fun and laughter and glorious sunsets. I am never so happy to arrive at this location and drink in the atmosphere .. we kept extending and extending our days not wanting to leave and ended up staying a week in a comfortable room overlooking the beach .. nothing beats this place .. great owners and great staff - huge tick here

Room Tip: beach view is awesome but all rooms are special and not a place to sleep its to much fun

This hotel is used by awesome adventures fiji for backpackers and it has a huge dorm. After a longhaul flight from LA I found the room basic but clean and the beachfront location wonderful. The staff have a big job on coping with all the 24hr stopovers and can be a bit slow. Sunday night is a local traditional fiji dance night and there weren't enough staff on to cope with all the guests food and drink. Breakfast was self service and a bit spartan. But you get what you pay for in your package. I would stay there agsin

I am biased about this hotel. It is a backpacker hotel, it's close to the airport (making you hear every take-off and landing), the crowd is young and partying. The beach is nice and not too overcrowded (most of the guests only gather for dinner).
I would probably have rated this hotel higher if it wasn't for the price/costs. The room was definitely okay, with a soft bed - just too expensive, and the "garden view" I booked turned out to be a room with a window to the street and the courtyard in front of the reception, so every arriving car / tour bus / guest were very audible (and people do arrive throughout the night and very early in the morning and they are pretty loud).
I didn't book any tours or massages, as I didn't get any information on them and didn't bother.
I spent my days at the beach (nice, no hassles, beautiful palm trees) and at the bar/terrace. There are not enough sunshades at the beach and not enough on the terrace. The beer is cold and the food alright, but the price is so, so not okay.
If you cut the costs for the meals by 3/4, it would be okay really. The rooms are worth about half the money they take, food a quarter of the price, then this would most definitely have been a pleasurable experience. Rooms are quite alright, nice, hasslefree beach, staff tries hard to please you. It's just that I expected differently due to the moeny I paid. Not even WI-FI is free...
