Mercure Nadi
Ranked #11 of 25 Hotels in Nadi
Reviewed September 28, 2012

I stayed in Mercure nadi for one night before flying out to Suva. The shuttle was there to pick me up around my 9pm arrival at the airport. The check-in was quick and I was reminded by the friendly staff that I could order dinner if I wanted since the kitchen closed at 10am and the porter carried my heavy bag upstairs without a murmur of complaint. The rooms are secure and neat.

The location is great because, in case, you don't want to eat at the hotel, other restaurants are just 2 minutes walk away. Popular bars are also about 5 minutes walk away.

Its not a hotel you would stay at for your entire holiday since it doesn't have a beach but is great for a couple of nights stopover either getting in or going out of Fiji.

Room Tip: if you are going to have a rental car, ask for downstairs room. You can park your car right outside...

We stayed at Mercure Nadi the night before we flew out. The (delux) room was spacious and clean with a comfy bed, and it was nice and quiet.
Check in staff were very friendly, and the price was great. It's not somewhere we would stay for a holiday, but it's close to the airport and served its purpose well.
There is a great Teppanyaki restaurant just up the road, as well as a pub, ATM and supermarket - so handy if you are just beginning your holiday in Fiji.
We would stay again.

Stayed 2 nights on business as Raffles was booked out. Friendly staff and clean rooms.
well located close to some good bars and a cheap taxi fare to Denerau or Nadi shops.
really isnt much differance between Raffles,Tanoa and the Mercure other than that Raffles has the best pool and you can walk to airport.
I would happily stay at the mercure again the staff are great. Happy hour 5-7pm then its a short walk to Eds,whitehouse, ice or bounty.
The room I stayed in had a real bath tub as well as a shower which was great for peaceful relaxing soak.

Room Tip: Get a room as far away from the pool as possible as the noise from the kids playing can be disturbin...

This motel is located along the main highway close to airport runway so noise is a factor when outside and rooms are reasonably quiet. It is one of many hotel along this stretch of hwy. It still has cathode ray TV but good reception and reasonable selection. Staff were polite and always ready with a smile and Bula!! Car park was full and we were directed to a grass area. Unfortunately in the dark the ran over a big concrete boulder. I think the car escaped damage but it was scary. Suggest it be removed. Breakfast buffet was poor for the price, but better spread than Best Western next door where I stayed night before. I am lactose intolerant but there was no alternative. A supply of soy or local goats milk may be handy.

We stayed one night at the Mercure prior to heading to the Yasawas. We have stayed at the Mercure a few times before and found it convenient in that we could walk down to the supermarket nearby and get snacks to take out to the islands. Check-in was extremely slow, despite having pre-booked and pre-paid. The restaurant has an open air section, which we prefer in the warm weather. We have found in the past the standard of food in the restaurant has been good. This time, however, was a Sunday night. There were two choices: a set barbq buffet menu for $40plus pp, or a pizza. The barbq'd meat (sitting cooked on the barbq) looked pretty tired, and the salads limp,so we opted for the pizza, which was fine. Breakfast was quite good, with enough choices.
The rooms themselves are just fair. The bed was good, but the pillows were terrible.
The worst part of our stay with the Mercure was the complimentary pickup from the airport by the Mercure's driver. We waited for 45 minutes to be picked up and taken to the hotel, while all other hotel pickups continued to come and go. Not a good way to start a holiday, after travelling all day. We have not have this problem in the past with the Mercure.
This is an economical stay for one night, so I guess we can't complain too much. Would we stay again - not sure....

Room Tip: Request a quiet room away from the restaurant.

Dear Chinta 1,
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Mercure Nadi. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies.
At Mercure Nadi, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address your concerns to further improve guest experience. To clarfiy your feedback on the pillows and the delayed transfers; all our pillows are purchased as the highest quality, we also have other choices available to all our guests should they find the allocated ones not too their liking and it is disappointing to hear that your pillows did not live up to these standards. Our complimentary shuttle transfers from the Airport are always reliable and punctual. I can assure you the hotel prides itself on its level of service and to hear that we have fallen short on this occasion is very disappointing.
We appreciate you sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future.

I recently stayed for two nights here with my family while we were transiting between the airport our main holiday location.

The rooms were very tired and need attention. We stayed in different rooms each time we stayed and found mold in both bathrooms and on our second stay was greeted with urine still in the toilet bowl.

The pillows are very lumpy and I would suggest requesting additional ones as you may be able to get something that is acceptable though I found it more comfortable to use my arm.

If you have a lot of luggage request a room on the first floor as there is no elevator though staff are more than willing to assist if needed.

We ate Breakfast and Dinner at the restaurant, both meals were pleasant and had a good variety for both my Wife and I and our 3 kids who can be fussy eaters.

Room Tip: The hotel was running a deal to upgrade from a standard room to a deluxe (the only two types of room...

Dear Cronus.nz,
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with some feedback regarding your recent stay. We do appreciate hearing from our guests, as their comments are vital for us to continue improving our service. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address your concerns and further improve guest experience. The hotel holds paramount the well being of all its guests and the recent completion of a soft refurbishment in all our Deluxe rooms is a testament to our commitment. The hotel abides by its strict policy's whereby, a room is thoroughly checked prior to being occupied. All our pillows are purchased as the highest quality, and we also have other choices available to all our guests. Typically, our hotel has the reputation of providing some of the best service and accommodation in the Nadi area. I am sorry that in this instance we fell short of providing you this experience.

Travelled with extended family and a toddler, and found the lovely pool area and small playground to be a big bonus with children. Very pleasantly laid out and landcaped. Rooms were okay, but a little drab. Could do with a bit of brightening up, but had all the facilities. Nice small bath in bathroom.

Sat outside our room on a small table and chairs near the pool area for pre-dinner drinks. Breakfast a little expensive so we opted to grab a egg and bacon roll on the pier before catching our ferry to the islands.

Short 5 minute walk to the supermarket makes it a good Nadi location. Wouldn't make this my main holiday destination, but as a 1 or 2 night stopover it's fine.

Room Tip: We chose a downstairs room near the pool for easy access from our outdoor seat area for the children...
