Prior to leaving home I had booked a dayroom here since we had a 10 hour layover prior to our flight to Auckland and arrived through Customs about 6am. The entire process of booking the hotel to checking in was flawless. We waited about ten minutes to be picked up by the Raffles shuttle van and were taken quickly to check-in. Half awake but excited to finally be in paradise I could see the devastation from the recent cyclone but I was confident all would be well. Upon checking in we were upgraded on the spot to a suite and it was large and wonderful for the six hours we were there. There was the odd bug or two in the bathroom on the ceiling but this is the tropics and was to be expected. We had a wonderful shower (they also had a jacuzzi bathtub) and fell quickly to sleep. The air conditioning was good but not great as I could only get the living room unit to work and not the bedroom and was too tired to call someone to fix it. Woke up feeling refreshed and had a decent meal in their restaurant. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing other than probably finding a different place for breakfast if I had the time. I do recommend Raffles especially if you just need a place to rest your head during a long layover. They quickly took us back to the airport at our request.

This hotel is very convenient as it is just opposite to the airport. My transportation company put us in this hotel due to their planes not functioning. There were three of us in my family and the room booked was good. Had two beds and we needed the room only till 9:30 pm till our flight time. The rooms were clean and ok. However the front desk staff constantly showed bad attitude. We asked for extra towels as there was only 1 set for three of us and we used that due to a water spill, the staff refused to give us more towels and blamed management for the policy. We stayed in one of the most expensive five star resort before staying here and they treated us as if we will be packing those in our bags. We therefore could not take shower and helplessly just cursed them as there was no point in going to another hotel. Then we though that we will drop our nags at the airport in the evening as soon as the check in counter opened, we did and we also informed the front desk as we are dropping the bags and coming back. When we came back, they already started cleaning the room up and then the front desk asked us to leave. Our stuff was still in the room. We mentioned to them that our flight is late at night and we will leave at 9:45. They threatened us to charge extra! We asked to talk to the manager and then they backed off. However, they kept on calling every 15 minutes asking when we were going to leave. The bottom line is that during my life I have never remotely thought that a hotel would treat guests like this. Good hotel is spoiled by bad attitude and bad service. If there is a choice, avoid this hotel at any cost and if your transportation company is putting you up in this, make sure that they do not and specifically let them know to put you in any hotel nearby but Ruffles.

Room Tip: Do not choose this hotel. Your vacation mood will be spoiled. I guarantee it.

Stayed for 1 night as most people do here. We had 2 adults and 3 children in the room. They let us have a baby cot at no extra charge. Did have a few issues with the power cutting out which meant no air conditioning. A taxi into Namaka for Dinner was FJ$6. Had lunch by the pool which was fine and the kids enjoyed the water slide though you need to get pool towels from reception. Tried to use their babysitting though they do not look after kids under 12 months. We used the free shuttle to the airport as we have young kids though you could easily walk if needed.

We were sent here after an extensive airport delay by our airline carrier. Upon check in I noticed the reception area looked like a dodgie central Queensland motel. When I questioned why our check in paperwork said Air pacific and not our actual airline, I was told in a sarcastic tone "do you want to go back to the airport" rude! We went to our room and on the way we passed several unhappy looking people. Nothing about this place showed you that you are in Fiji. Very old and ugly with miserable looking staff. Upon opening the room we actually could not help but laugh. So run down and old, I would not even entertain staying there. We took our bags and checked into the Sofitel which was only a 20 minute and $fj20 cab fair away. Do your self a favour don't stay here just because its close to the airport, there are plenty of better hotels minutes away with that Fijian hospitality that we all love. To the rude reception staff, we live in Fiji and will not recommend this hotel to anybody, don't forget just because we look like a tourist, doesn't mean we are.

Room Tip: Haha there are none.

We stayed 3 separate nights here in between trips to other parts of Fiji. It's literally a 5 minute walk from the airport terminal (and there's a free shuttle bus if you can't be bothered walking), the rooms are clean and comfortable, there's a good big swimming pool for cooling off, the food is fine - in short, it ticks all the boxes for an airport hotel. It's not an island resort, but it's not trying to be. And it's easy to catch a taxi into town or Denarau if you want to explore further for about $10 Fijian. We were happy each night we stayed here.

I stay often in transit. Rooms are okay, clean and fairly spacious (for for the deluxe, their standards are always sold out, but the USD$10 is worth the difference), Staff friendly, but not always super efficient. Food average. I like to get a massage between long flights and unfortunately they don't have a facility for this. You can go next door to Trans International but it doesn't have a good reputation and is 'salon' only open for limited hours.

We got a ground floor room - thank goodness! After living in a rented hi-rise apartment for the previous 2 months, this was a welcome gesture indeed! The rooms are large, clean, quiet and has all the mod cons one expects of a Raffles hotel. Its proximity to the airport, a bus stop and Namaka township are a bonus. The staff are helpful, friendly and professional. I think we've just found the perfect transit waterhole - YAY !!!
