We really enjoyed wandering the garden at leisure. There were beautiful orchids and lovely and cool under the shades. The lovely complimentary juice at the end was very refreshing.

The gardens are wonderful. So many orchids and other tropical plants and flowers. So peaceful with the sounds of birds amongst the trees. The walks are very exhilarating! On your return back to the reception in a very tropical garden room(s) setting you will find a delicious fruit juice awaiting ......so nice a gesture. Make sure you go. There is a small entrance fee. e paid $FJ32 for one adult , two children. Apparently Raymond Burr (Actor) had a great involvement in the gardens.

This was a nice way to spend the day. Good walk from Stoney Creek, and chatting with locals along the way is always cool. The orchid garden is great. I don't think I would've come from the other side of the island to see this, but if you're in Nadi, head over.

What an amazing garden. We had a very knowledgeable guide who also tended the garden. So he knew the names of all the amazing orchids, palms, ornamental gingers, and was able to answer all of our questions. The gardens are immaculate, very well cared for. The property originally was owned by actor Raymond Burr of Ironside fame. Apparently he named the mountain range whilst at the local pub one night and noticing that it resembled the profile of a sleeping man. He later bought the acreage on the foothills of the mountain for his garden.
I think we took a little over an hour in the garden and enjoyed a cool tropical fruit juice afterwards. A lovely way to spend the morning.
TIP
We got there on opening and had the garden to ourselves for an hour, before the first bus tour arrived.
We used Matalau Tours from the dockside at Lautoka. Phone 679 7089954

The cost was $35 australian each for the 2 of us in a private car, and the very friendly driver waited for us, took us shopping in Nadi then returned us to the ship. A total of about 3 hours. Good value compared to the ships tours.
We paid the $10 admission to the garden ourselves.

My wife is into gardens hence my booking this visit. I must say that I did find it interesting and very nicely laid out. There were also ponds there. Needless to say my wife thought it wonderful and we had a guide who gave sufficient but not needlessly long information.
