Good ambiance and the style of cooking is good with healthy food and not so healthy sauces. If you have not eaten in a Japanese restaurant much - it is worth trying I have been here many times and always enjoy the food and the pricing

Thank you very much for dining at Daikoku Restaurant.
Home-made mayonnaise sauce used for prawn are one of the popular sauce but it is true not really healthy.... I always have to make a choice, "endure pleasure of food" or "Do exercise"!!

Went on two different occasions to Daikoku in Nadi. The restaurant remains one of the best in the area. Our service was fine and the food was satisfactory. One of the party was not pleased with the quality of the beef and how it was cooked or rather overcooked. I had the carnivore choice twice which was fine except for the third dish which was a wee bit too salty for me.One friend loves the seafood selection and has been impressed with at different times over past years. Reservations are advised as it can get busy. However one time we went and were told by downstairs staff they were fully booked, but when a friend checked upstairs this was not the case. There were many empty tables and several remained empty throughout the evening. Therefore the management may wish to review such communications, especially with customers who frequent the restaurant. Markups on wine seem a little higher than other places which we visited on this trip. We also noticed stains on the walls, perhaps caused by the cyclone several months ago, and the furniture is a bit worn. Perhaps the operator is planning some improvements soon which will be great and will serve to maintain Daikoku's fine reputation as a good local restaurant. Prices seem a little high for meals, yet again over at many Denarau restaurants one can encounter higher prices with service not as good as that of Daikoku. We look forward to visits to Daikoku in the future.

Thank you very much for dining at Daikoku Restaurant and your valuable review.

Whatever I say, you may feel just silly excuses. However I would like to explain about reservation at Teppan-Yaki Restaurant.
First of all, We are always feel that we would like to take as many guests to enjoy our meal rather than rejecting guests. However, differ from the other restaurant, we have to ask small parties of 2-4 guests to share the Teppan-Yaki Table. 8-10 people normally can accommodate in one table but we are able to take only 6-7 people in 1 table if they are two groups. Sitting too close with someone stranger make them uncomfortable. Therefore, we always arrange one seat empty between the group in the same table. And numbers of party which guests give us sometime unexpectedly increase. Even such an occasion, the Restaurant has to somehow prepare the seats for them. and the Restaurant reservation are not able to take any deposit for the booking. Therefore cancellation of the booking at the last moment (or without notice) is not rare case. We normally call booking guest 15 minutes past after the booked time. But we try to hold booking for 30-45 minutes even though we could not reach to guests for the first reminder call. We consider that standard dinner time is for 90-120 mins, 45-60 min for quick meal for small party. So, if we have a booking at 7:00, we are not able to take any guest before the booking unless any cancellation call arrive. If the booking guest never call cancellation and never turn up for dinner, the table would remain unused for about 90 mins. and later on the booking might be cancelled or by the time the booking guests arrive, other table might be available. In such case, guests may think that the Restaurant seems still empty table but advised that the Restaurant is fully reserved. This is why we are not able to take any guests as long as the table is booked. and also we are not able to ask guests in dining to finish ASAP.

Furniture, carpet and wallpaper, window paper are getting old and damaged by cyclone, we acknowledge that it would not be good idea but there would be fixed one by one since not many local carpenter can maintain Japanese interior.

Any complaint to our Teppan-Yaki Chef's cooking are welcome anytime for their improvement. Most of Teppan-Yaki staff in FIji who have got enough cooking experience, show more interest in juggling or entertainment and get less interest in taste of food. Therefore, sometimes Trainee chef performs better in cooking rather than old staff, even though their handling skill of utensils are still clumsy. This is our company's responsibility to train staff-understanding and professional awareness, and matter of individual awareness. Although all our Teppan-Yaki Chef have completed proper Teppan-Yaki training and passed the examination, we will send unqualified chef back to training.

Anyway, thank you very much for your comment and we hope to serve you again soon.
