Our booking was made by our travel agent, and to his credit it was close to the airport and reasonably inexpensive as we just needed a bed for the night (what we had asked for).
Apon contacting them to confirm our reservation the day before arriving, we were informed that we had no booking (our creditcard had been charged). After several phonecalls we arrived at the hotel to find that this had been sorted.
We were met with a smile and issued keys. The porter/ security was polite (a welcome Fiji trait).
We had to share an airconditioning remote with our friends in the adjacent room. The bed had fresh sheets (I think), but the room was filthy, there were no tissues in the tissue box, no handtowels, no shampoos (I dont need the latter). There was the remnants of shaveing stubble from the last guest all over the basin, we must have got the same room as cplion as our bathroom door also wouldnt close. At least the aircon worked but the fan gave out sometime through the night. Didnt have a remote for the tv so didnt try it.
Our travel companion's recieved a room next to us that had a sliding door opening on to a balcony, which could not be locked and was secured by us finding a piece of timber to stop it from opening.
We requested a 5 am wake up call and didnt get it.
We did get free transport to airport and on time
We didnt pay much for the rooms but would have thought that Best Western would have had a higher standard.

The ladie at the front counter was very rude and the rooms were ran down. The air con did not work, the restuarant stinks. The pool is dirty, we stayed at the mecure 3 days prior and it was great. We thought we would try something different on the way back through nadi and it turned out to be a big mistake.

The room was ok. the Price for the room was reasonable. The lady at the Reception, takes the credit for my Bad Review, She was rude and obnoxious with no customer service skills, usually we are accustomed with staff in the Hospitality Industry in Fiji greeting us with a smile, but she on the other hand, just looked at us blankly and said 'YES'. I was really taken aback and dissapointed with her whole attitude, so much for being a Friendly Island. The pool was filthy. Actually the highlight was when we were checking out and we went to return the key, the same rude lady at the reception was like, WHERE IS THE REMOTE FOR THE TV AND AIRCONDITION? She asked me to go and get it from the room, I was like, No thanks, i am going home. I think the Management needs to send her to school.

I have stayed at this Hotel several times over the last 12 months. Things are improving under Best Western, with self locking doors now which gives a better security if you accidently forgot to put the chain on and hair dryers. But still not up to BW standard. On all occasions there was no tissues in the tissue box, no face washer or hand towels, conditioner/shampoo. One had to specifically request this from reception. Bathroom door could not close as door was off the hinge, overhead fan had one speed, full speed, TV reception an old box TV with poor reception and very few choices Aussie news and Indian TV serials. Wash area small and paint peeling. Only 3 sachets of coffee and no sweetners.
Generally most staff friendly but not sufficiently well trained. On my second stay of 3 nights of holiday, was woken up at 7.00AM by staff delivering new phone directory!! The next time booked wake up and did not get it. Last time booked a wake up for 6.00AM and I was woken up at 4.00 AM!! Could not sleep again. No apology at checkout. One good thing was they did transport me to the airport free right on time.
Management and Best Western have a lot work to do.
I will not be back and would not recommend to any one.
PS Booked and paid for Deluxe room but I think i got standard room both times.

Room Tip: Rooms next to pool is recommended for those with family

I returned a couple of days ago from a relaxing holiday at the Hexagon International feeling very rejuvenated! On short notice I booked a very reasonably priced (cheap!) Poolside Deluxe Room with not1night.com (which I accidentally made a mess of, but called up not1night directly and spoke to a lovely lady on the phone who sorted things out and saved my holiday) and a couple of weeks later there I was sitting by a gorgeous pool.

The rooms were quite modest but definitely comfortable (we did not see any of the 'bedbugs' warned about in some of the other reviews). Would definitely choose the Poolside room over the standard deluxe room, worth the extra money (and not too much more, well not with who I booked with).

Luckily the weather was beautiful so there was plenty of time to get out and explore the city, whose center is within walking distance of the hotel.

The hotel is not so endowed with amenities, but the choice of 3 pools was appreciated and the concierge was very helpful in planning out our day trips.

All in all my girlfriend and I had a very nice and relaxing time, partly due to Fiji and partly due to the hotel.

We have been staying each year at the Hexagon since 2007 and have enjoyed all our stays. The 2 bedroom apartments are ecomonical for a family with 2 seperate bedrooms (main with ensuite)
lounge, dining & kitchen. Also the unit has a Washing Machine & Dryer which when you have a family it saves heaps instead of sending clothes away to the laundry. With a supermarket next door to stock up on the basic groceries. We found a wonderful Chinese Restaurant in the block of shops next door with reasonably priced chinese dishes for lunch & dinner. There is also a bakery with fresh bread in the same block of shops. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Jasmin Spa that is behind the studio apartments is great for facials & massages. We would recommend and will be back again next year.
