What a great little place the Bluewater is. Picked up at Nadi airport by Michael, 10 mins via an atm to get necessary cash. Only 5 rooms, great pool and the food was truly gourmet.
Very keenly priced, and the staff are really warm and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Check out was flexible. There is not a lot to do around here or in Nadi, but you can walk around the town, check out the new mosque, have a look at some sari shops, where we found some wonderful cheap jewellery.
Went to a restaurant on our first night called Saffrons, probably very expensive by fiji standards but amazing food and service and still much cheaper than home.
A cab fare is worth $10FJ but beware - on our brief return trip to the airport, the cabbie wanted $10 each for four of us.... Gave him $20 - only because our bags were in the back and I thought he might take off. Just ask before you get in, it's only worth $10.
You will find Bluewater a great place to stay.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this cozy get-away. Mike picked me up from the airport and Fiona cooked the best dinners I had during my two weeks in Fiji! Great stir fry with lots of fresh veggies, wonderful lamb dishes - all served poolside. This small hotel is the clean, quiet, charming alternative to the other noisy hostel hotels in Nadi. It is also a great place to stay over on your way to another island, like I did before my trip to Taviuni. Very relaxing, well appointed, air-conditioned rooms as well. Mike and Fiona own this lovely hotel and are the nicest people, as are all their lovely and warm Fijian staff.

A note about Fiji: THE nicest, warmest people I have ever met in my all my travels. Just go and explore. Fiji is a great value and welcomes tourists in the warmest way.

My only regret is that Bluewater is likely to be fully booked the next time I reserve as it is the best little hotel in the area by far and a great value as well!

This place is just perfect - the owners are so welcoming, the property is gorgeous in tranquil surroundings but still near everything you need, inlcuding the beach. Joe, one of the staff members, was an absolute pleasure. It is worth going here for the food alone - a real 5* menu served by candlelight in the garden. Mike and Fiona bent over backwards to ensure that our stay in Fiji was just perfect. We felt really spoilt here! Thank you!

We stayed at Bluewater Lodge for a total of 10 days, and even though there's literally nothing to do on Viti Levu, we loved our stay! When we were going to the Yasawas, Fiona, one of the owners, arranged our whole trip - and even took care of me when I was sick. She and Mike, who runs the ho(s)tel together, are the most friendly people! It's like staying at home abroad! We actually loved the place so much we're writing this review on the airport leaving. Recommended!

Absolutely fantastic...we didn't want to leave!! My boyfriend and I stayed in Bluewater Lodge for 5 nights in April and without a doubt is the best backpackers place we stayed in our whole 8 month trip around the world. It is run by lovely couple called Fiona and Mike who made it feel like home from home. We were nearing the end of our trip and had stayed in some less than perfect hostels, but we we can't ever believe Bluewater could be beaten! More boutique hotel than a hostel, Fiona is the most amazing cook and Mike is the perfect host too. It is just 1 min from the beach and a little apart from the main drag of hostels which is a real bonus if you want to escape from the noise of the bars etc. It's the best value for money and the room (we stayed in the downstairs double room) was so beautifully decorated and clean it was like a bedroom at home - great to wash away any home-sickness! Mike also kindly showed us around the rest of the rooms - lets just say the dorm rooms are as 'champagne backpacker' as you can get!!! Lovely pool and fluffy towels left out for you, and breakfast by the pool on the patio in the morning.
We haven't written a review before but we have to share this place with people!!!

My husband and I have just spent a week at Bluewater Lodge and had a wonderful time because of the kindness of the owners and the attention to detail of their friendly and helpful staff. The Lodge is set back behind it's own gates down a quiet backwater, yet is just a three minute stroll to the nearby beach and the more lively backpacker hotels. Although the beach is 'black' sand, it was lovely to visit, with lots of shells, the water was very warm, clear, with gentle waves and mountains as a backdrop. Locals were bathing in the sea, their small children playing in the sand and horses passed by with their riders who stopped to enquire if we wanted to ride them (no pressure, they accepted our negative response very cheerfully). Every Fijian person we met greeted us with a genuine, warm 'Bula'! and a desire to help or please, with no expectation of a tip or getting something out of it. One or two shopkeepers were an exception in the nearby town of Nadi. The Lodge is spacious, tastefully decorated with lovely photographs and pictures interespersed with interesting furnishings. Our double room with ensuite shower/toilet/sink had plenty of hanging space and storage and the very important air conditioning unit which was also very quiet (handy if you're trying to sleep). We were loaned a hairdryer for the duration of our stay and our laundry was taken and returned the same day, no charge. Plenty of fluffy towels, which were arranged on the bed in a very creative way and fresh flowers greeted us on our arrival. The host, Mike (English) picked us up from the airport - where they have a Freephone facility for people looking for accommodation. There was an indoor and outdoor dining area and we could chose where we wanted to eat, at whatever time we surfaced. The staff were attentive and eager to make our stay happy and comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. The outside area was beautifully landscaped into a tropical paradise, half was designated as a garden with grass, and planted borders, the other half was the pool area and surrounded by decking, with an outdoor bar close to hand. It had a nautical feel and the salt water in the pool was a nice suprise - no chlorine! The pool was a good size and it was available, with towels, any time - even in a tropical storm - which was a fantastic experience! We were treated like one of the family even to the extent that Mike and Fiona (who is Fijian) took us to a new tourist attraction some miles away - the Flying Fox - a zip wire experience over the canopy of the tropical forest below. Fiona is terrified of heights, as am I, but we both gave it a try and what a fantastic time we had! Fiona arranged and booked the many trips we went on, to other islands and places ,and was very informative about where to go and what to do. The Lodge have a computer and internet access available for guests to use. They even showed us around the entire place so that we would be able to describe it to others - including their own living area - as they have undertaken extensive reburishment work over the last two years and are - quite rightly - very proud of the outcome. I would recommend the Lodge to anyone looking for a smaller, quiet place to chill - with lovely far reaching views - and sitting out on the decking in the evening with the tropical pool area lit up, with a cold drink in your hand, was paradise. We will return!

My partner and I recently stayed at the Bluewater Lodge hotel in Nadi....recently opened, lovely and clean, simple, nice decor, with pool, lovely owners.... would definitely recommend if looking for somewhere in cheaper range. Nadi isn´t great at best of times, so this little oasis tucked away near the beach (not nice beaches in Nadi) was a real find, near the other tourist hotels but in itself was a lovely quiet place to stay.
