Was honeymooning in Fiji last week. Husband really wanted to go on this tour.
The bus picked us up from our resort and took approx 45 min to get to the boat. Drive was nice. Got to see the sugar came farmers and drive past the people who live in shacks etc.. Seeing people for how they really live was an eye opener.
Boat ride was nice. A lil long.. Looking at nothing but bush that was fine tho.
Got to the island .. Nice white sand and caught a perfect sunset.
Kava ceremony was funny :)
Watched the boys walk on hot stones a lil disappointed as we were under the impression as this was goin to be a trail of red hot stones which they walked across. Not just the stones that were still hot from the recently cooked food (hangi/ Umu /lovo/ food cooked underground)
Food was nice. Don't know where the cooked fish disappeared too.
Fire show was good. Really enjoyed it and the staff were friendly.
Boat ride home was eventful. Scary as we had to travel in the dark so the boys could look out for the markers in the water. Boat got caught on a fishing net also and got stuck there until they cut it all up.
Enjoyed the night out all up. $159pp is abit steep as well as paying for petrol $10pp

This is the 2nd year we have gone on this trip and it is still great value for money. A short bus trip from Danauru, a short boat trip and there you are. The food is great probably the best food for lunch we have had on a day trip[, activities are non stop and the giant turtle is huge!!! We had our 19mth old grandson this time and were surprised when we got there that one of the staff looks after the kids for as long as you want while you are off snorkelling or going with the mad medicine man on a tour around the island. Fishing was so so- did not catch anything, snorkelling is fine but does not compare to ort Great Barrier Reef so it is a bit hard to say as most people may be having their first look at coral, unfortunately most of it is dead or dying. A long day but great value for money.

We did the night tour, the thing that they didn’t tell us was a $10per person for the boat (for fuel im guessing) The boat trip was in a large basic aluminium boat with seating running down the sides and in the middle, it’s a 30 min boat ride, but was lovely as the sun was coming down, when u get to the island u r welcome by song, u then do the kava ceremony and then taking over to were the digging of the lovo was, after that done they have firewalking, then dinner, lovo feast which is served buffet style (as the food was cooked underground) was amazing Now the island offers a voucher covering 5 drinks for a set price of $28 Fiji. The voucher also covers ice cream that’s 5 drinks between a couple they also take credit card if u don’t have cash, and drinks are little expensive then the different cultural dancing/fire throwing, it was amazing :) it finishes around 9:30pm then he boat ride back also 30minutes by the time u get back to ur resorts its late but worth it love every minute of it :)

We went on the Robinson Crusoe day tour and I have to say that it was awful. The whole experience was beyond disappointing. The snorkelling couldn't be done due to choppy water though they did try but there was no alternative. The fishing was joke with a guy driving around a little tinny the whole time and only a set of rod with a lure on each. The food was average. The entertainment though was lacking, the firewalking was a joke and the dancing and shows weren't up to par at all with lots of mistakes and 'traditional' dances to Kylie's Locomotive.
My partner and I (in our 20's) were bored stupid after 5 minutes, it was very disappointing!
The worst part of it was that after making friends with the locals and appreciating their culture and traditions I found the whole thing tacky and disrespectful. It really was awful, sorry.

We got a coach from Port Denaru with the tour staff on board the host Bola was a great host from morning until we left the island late in the afternoon. Then we went out to the Island via a boat & from the moment we got there & seen the welcome to Robinson Crusoe island written in the sand with them all singing a welcoming to us all it was great.
Food was so yum Cooked by lovo the potatoes chicken & fish were delicious as was the ham and all the salads provided.
We got to see them climb coconut trees which was amazing to see then they cut them up and we got to try coconut.
Snorkelling was good as was the kayaking, swimming & the fire dancing knife dancing & other demonstrations.
We have two kids 5 & 8 and they had a ball so would also suggest this day tour for families as we felt it gave the kids the opportunity to see all aspects of Fijian life! Defiantly would do this tour again!
