“Perrfect Place to Stay for a Few Hours Sleep”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2009

We arrived in Raro at 3am and could not book into our accommodation until lunch time without paying an early entry fee which did not make sense - so we booked at the Aquarius to crash for a few hours. Perfect solution. Even though it is just across the road and up a bit from the airport they even pick you up - which is great at that time of the morning. The rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable - just what we were looking for and an excellent place to stay for an overnight or few hours. The shower was fantastic after such a long flight. The host was very welcoming and the staff friendly. There is evn a pool if you want a quick dip. For $150 NZ I thought it was great value and would recommend it for those who want to avoid early check in costs or those going onto Aitutaki.

We stayed here on the last night of our honeymoon to get a couple hours sleep before boarding our 3am flight home. The hotel is a 3 minute walk to the airport so it's very convenient.

We had our own room which was very basic. It consisted of a comfortable bed, a clean bathroom and a nice view of the water. No cooking facilities.

The rooms do not have clocks/alarm clocks so make sure you speak to the friendly security guard on night duty to organise a knock-on-the-door wake up so you make your flight on time!

If you can sleep through a bit of bar noise and you want to save money for your last or first night on Rarotonga, you could do worse than the Aquarius Rarotonga.

We spent one night at the hotel before catching our 4:40 am flight out, a common departure time in the Cook Islands. The only reason to stay here is the location - literally across the street from the airport. No need to pay for a taxi.

The hotel is about what one would expect for the price. Rooms are on the old side, but are spacious and look basically clean. The room looks right out onto the beach, which is admittedly a dirty little piece of sand.

One significant drawback is the continuous noise coming from the attached restaurant. I slept fine, but if you are a light sleeper this place would be a nightmare.
