“Crafts - food - produce - jewellry - this is a great market!”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

I've been to the market many times and I go on Saturdays whenever I can. I like the increasing variety of things.
A favourite is Victoria's bakery stall. She and her husband produce breads, pastries, pesto, muesli and all sorts of lovely things. Another great one is at the northern end - the tivaevae stall run by Ina Bishop and many other women. (They also have tivaevae classes during the week and they are always so helpful to the learner.) Lots of bed quilts, cushion covers, tablecloths etc and their workmanship is exquisite!

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Good options for buying local fruit, vegetables and fish to take back to your self-catering accommodation. Be there early for best options on produce (830am). Ready-to-eat street-food vendors are plentiful, but be aware they provide heavy lunch and dinner style options if you're looking for lighter breakfast fare. Lots of souvenirs are available. Be careful to pick out the authentic local products from the many mass-produced, off-shore items.

“Markets”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

You have got to go to the markets, hunt for a bargain, watch the culteral dancing. Buy a coconut and a crepe, and a t-shirt and fruit and , and , and.

“The markets are a must”

Great produce for your stay if you are self-catering. Good food. The roti is great. My favourite is the poke (Banana, paw paw or mango depending on the season with arrowroot and coconut cream). Cheapish souvenirs if that's what you are after. Some 'interesting' sermons also.
