We were warmly welcomed at 6 in the morning by Terry who was so friendly and made us feel right at home. The bungalow was spacious and clean and met all of our needs - perfect location and the beach just down the driveway. We really felt at home here, and Terry and Eric, and Yappy the dog-(who was our favorite porch companion) will always remain a fond memory for us.

My wife and I booked tickets to Rarotonga for our 15th anniversary and had the great pleasure of spending a week at Muri Shell. Terry was incredibly helpful and the bungalows were in a perfect location with easy access to the beach, bus and local restaurants.

The fact that there is free Wifi fed my wife's Facebook addiction (ok, and mine too). We still talk about our time in Raro, and one day will get back there and maybe bring the kids along (or not :))

If you are coming from Australia or NZ, consider bringing food, particularly meat, with you as it is generally imported, anyway, so is very expensive. Get the local fruits and veges, tho - they are fresh and very tasty.

Best place to stay. Only a few minutes walk down to Muri beach. The owner Terry takes good care of you and help you with everything. I have stayed here two times now and will be back. So lovely to eat breakfast in the beautiful garden. Everything you need for stay in the Paradise.

We loved it and will be back for sure. The property is looked after with great care and a personal touch. It is situated very close to the beautiful Muri lagoon and provides everything one needs in Raro.

Terry, the owner, is a legend, he knows so much about history, the island and its people. All his stories and snippets were interesting and we would sometimes listen in amazement.

We loved Muri Shell bungalows. It was great value for money, very close to an awesome beach and handy to everything else you might need - shops, cafes, restaurants, car rental places and the main road for the bus. It's also only a 5 min bus ride to the best snorkeling place on Raro (The fruits of Raro) and a 15 min bus ride into town (but then it doesn't take long to get anywhere in Raro!).

We also loved the manager, Terry, what a great, friendly and very interesting guy. He had so many stories and bits of information for us, he was the perfect host. And it was great having Yapsalot - his dog and all the baby chickens around to entertain the kids.

Tina, who owns the bungalows but wasn't i Rarotonga when we stayed was also very helpful when we booked.

The accommodations are very well equipped, clean, and have everything you could want or need including a BBQ, a washing machine, a blender (for all your tropical smoothies and cocktails) filtered water and a whole room full of towels (handy when you're doing a lot of swimming and snorkeling!). They are in a lovely garden setting with a big yard surrounded by fruit trees. We stayed in the bigger 4 person bungalow and then the flat. Both of them were great and suited us perfectly. My kids (who are 5 and 6) absolutely loved staying upstairs in the bungalow. In the flat they stayed in the living area, but i did quite enjoy having a bedroom door so I could sleep in a bit.
Overall it was a great holiday and I hope to come back and stay again some time.

We ve enjoyed one week in Rarotonga and could not pick a better place to stay. The bungallow is simple, nice, quiet and has everything that you need. Not fancy so if you are looking for a 5 stars hotel you won't get it. However, if you are looking for a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay instead of "wasting" your money in a fancy place then you found the place to stay. The location is very good and Terry is adorable :)

I told all my friends about Rarotonga and specially about these bungallow so better tell the world too.

BTW, Tina (the contact person) was wonderful when we cancelled the first booking due to some family illness. She managed to book a second week for us as well as organised a friendly lady to pick us up at the airport.

I will definitely come back to Rarotonga and Terry's paradise.

We stayed at Muri shell bungalow in May 2012 and we absolutely loved it. It is very quiet, very spacious, very clean, with a fully-equipped kitchen, washing machine and clothes lines. Terry, the manager, is adorable and very helpful. The price of the bungalow is the best value ever. You will not get a better bungalow for that price. Muri is the best place to stay in Raro, and this bungalow is a 1 minute walk to the beach/lagoon. What more do you need? :)
