Nice view. Excellent breakfast. Perfect location, near restaurants and seaside, it is not necessary to get taxis.
The neighborhood is nice and safe, just a little noisy because of the buses that stop at the square in front of the hotel.
Nice hotel. Employes were really helpfull and friendly. The view on the ocean is a great plus.

The hotel is just fine: the size of the rooms, cleaned and specially the breakfast is quite good. However, the service is rather gloomy y/o cold? During my stay I did not feel in a hotel with a South American atmosphere rather within a "polar environment".
Charming location at Placa Gomensoro, Pocitos. Standard rooms are small and old fashioned, like they were in the fifties. But everything works. Huge closets with sliding doors, one mirrored, can hold abolutely all your luggage and more. The mirror makes the room look twice as big. TV, big fridge, internet. And the most beautiful view of the river. Good airco and a bright and handy bathroom.
The scrambled eggs at breakfast are horrible, they are green, a disgrace. Good breads, butter, ham, cheese, orange juice.
Outstanding location with waterviews. Being our second trip to Uruguay, in Montevideo Pocitos is our neighborhood of choice. Spending four nights at the Ermitage, we were most satisified and actually pleasantly surprised with the rambla and waterviews. Better than pictured! Even lying in bed we had a waterview. Hotel is older with its own charm and updated in many aspects. Good service, pleasant staff and the hotel is clean, extremely clean. The room was ample in size, plenty of storage, wall safe (free), mini refrigerator and good wifi (free). Bath was adequate with the most amazing hot water pressure in the shower, there was even a hairdryer. Waterview breakfast (included) served on the second floor was pretty typical faire; however, there is a very large terrace with umbrella tables for outside dining. Very nice. This is a residential area and within 2 blocks in any direction there are numerous shops, restaurants and cambios (no need to rate shop they are all the same). It is reasonably safe to walk at night to a local restaurant. Cabs are abundant, metered and fairly inexpensive. A nice park is located between the hotel & rambla. Considering this is a Capital city, rarely does one find such an expansive ramble (wide walkway/sidewalk) & waterfront with beaches which by most standards is pretty clean. Again, this is less than 2 blocks away. Location can't be beat. Strolling the neighborhood we discovered other hotels, some are much more upscale yet none offering the views of the Ermitage. Truly a 5-star location. Would we revisit...YES!
A good hotel close to the beach and restaurants and stores . Good and friendly service . Rooms of a good size with all amenities . Good breakfast , served till 11 am which is great if you are in no hurry ! Above all very good service , one has the impression that they enjoy their job and want you to visit again . A new restaurant will open shortly . Very reasonable price , very much value for money .
