The hotel needs an upgrade very soon! Rooms are old and walls are like paper! The staff is friendly and that is the only good point of the hotel. Wifi is 10US$ per day. Breakfast is below any standard. I have recently stayed in another Four Points in Cape Town and that was much, much better. Avoid this place until they have upgraded the place!

We went with friends to Buenos Aires and Montevideo. I selected the 4-points because of the price and the location. It is an older hotel, but in a very good shapre. You can walk to most areas of Montevideo, even to the port market with the great food. The only negative issue was that they were still converting the a/c from heating to cooling, which takes them one week and we arrived the first day of the conversion, so during our 5-night stay no a/c. It was OK for us as it was not really hot, but our friends did not like it, they like it really, really cold. I would definately come back to this hotel and Montevideo. Please note: I usually go to Starwood Hotels as I have for payment or partial payment through my AMEX card and with the gold status I have benefits like free internet.

this is a perfect hotel for doing bussiness in Montevideo for his location, facilities and outstanding service. Since the moment you arrive, everyone at the staff is ready to cooperate and make your stay very pleasant. The only sugestion is to update the beds to the famous "sheraton sleep" level. The actual furniture looks and feel outdated. Apart of this detail, this hotel is highly recomendable for bussiness, not for vacation

4 points Sheraton in Montevideo is well situated a few blocks from the sea and a 20 min walk or short taxi ride to the old town. The hotel is comfortable for business or family guests. We stayed in a double room with two queen beds ideal for travelling with two smaller kids. The breakfast was below our expectation but the gym and heated pool was a nice area to relax in.
First time in Montevideo and a 2 night stay is enough to enjoy the city.

Room was clean but smelled a bit moldy. Not only was the bed incredibly uncomfortable, but the sheets were also just as old, thread bare and pilly. The bed also lacked a mattress pad. Internet only worked part of the time. We were explained that this was due to the storm that had delayed our flight, but a quick walk down the street to the chivito (sandwich) shop proved that internet was functioning. In total were given three difference excuses about what the problem was. My personal feeling is that since we checked in as a group, the IT guy didn´t want to have to enter everyone in, since we were only staying one night. Varied excuses and not being able to give one strait answer is typical in Latin America when people are trying to avoid doing work. This place is also the ONLY place in Uruguay where you have to pay for internet. Free internet is literally everywhere. As it looks like managment is reading every review: hopefully the hotel can get some new sheets, and please train the staff to give honest and simple answers (that don´t change!), guests do not like to feel like they are being lied to especially gringos and will be more sympathetic to staff.

Have being a very good hotel, i 'm must say is loosing the touch
Clean, service and concern about the customer is gone
If you plan to stay there just to sleep maybe is a good option due to the price, but thos four points is absolutely different then others. You do not have to expect the same service , concern and cleaness

Staff was kind enough to upgrade me to a suite, which was spacious, clean, but looked somewhat old in decor and finish. Gym on top floor had great view; cardio equipment was minimally functional. Lots of hula hoops in the gym for some reason. Lobby was pleasant; food varied from passable to quite tasty. Front desk would not change money. Twenty-minute walk to Ciudad Vieja. Good restaurants nearby.
