“Magnificent building and a great tour”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

This place is awesome. A camera cannot capture its grandeur but my few photos will give you an idea. The builders used 57 different types of marble, all from Uruguay. The guided tours are in either Spanish or English and the tour guides will give you a great insight into things of significance in the building and also some local history. The cost is minimal - great value. Check tour times, there are only one or two tours per day. I have lived in Montevideo for a few years and just discovered this gem this year. It is certainly on my list to recommend to every friend who visits.

It has history and actual democracy with one of the three independent forces, legislative, judicial and executive, this one is the legislative one, in a beautiful marble palace in a very open setting.Should be seen.

“An interesting view of Uruguay”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

The layout is wonderful and everything well maintained. A tour is worth the hour it takes. It gave me insight on how the government of Uruguay functions and a glimpse into the past. A wonderful building and worth the hour to take a tour

“One of the best places to visit”
Reviewed December 8, 2013 via mobile

If you're kind of tired of buildings that are falling apart, this is a great place to go. The palacio legislativo is beautiful, impressive, clean and shows a different side of the city. I would definitely say that this place is in my top 5 of Montevideo. To get here you can just take the bus and that's it. And the Mercado Agricola is near, just two blocks away, and there you can eat, have an ice cream, buy some fruit or just rest.

Italian marble, well architectured library, beautiful layout well guided and good information provided. It was a good experience in getting insight to the Parliamentary system and functioning. The compostion of the houses and their responsibilities. Overall a good experience.
