Built as an opera theater in 1856 now it is the most famous theater of Uruguay, it was well worth the small fee for the tour (2U$). Tours are offered simultaneously in English, Spanish and Portuguese .Located in the center of Montevideo near Plaza de la Independencia

Beautiful but very long and boring. We seat cover your view and you need to make hard effort to see the scenes.
The bad thing is you buy on line but have to get with your receipt a ticket in other places. That makes a problem when you spend there full days with tours.

Beautiful architecture. It was something to see for sure. It was nice just touring the building to see understand some of the history.

Great architecture and beautiful building. Pretty cheap shows and good quality theater. Excellent spot for a date night or looking for something to do while in town.

Teatro Solis is great. A beautiful place with a good range of show for less than 10 US$. You can also just go for a tour.

This was the 3rd stop on my walking tour and once again, it was great to learn about the history of the building. While it was not open during our stop I will be coming back to check out the interior.

I recommend seeing a performance at Solis rather than just touring the building! The average price of a ticket is $6 USD. The prices are kept low by government efforts to promote access to the arts. The theatre has an impressive sala principal, where you can get a seat to see a play/dance/orchestra

Teatro Solis is a cool little piece of Uruguayan history. It’s not huge, but you may enjoy a free tour to learn more about the theaters history and origins or a dramatic play. It’s a pleasant theater to wander in and watch a play or other performance in.

The Solis Theatre is absolutely stunning
A beautiful architectural gem, the building itself is very beautiful, and inside you’ll find it even more fantastic
When u go book a tour, they are very good at explaining the history of the place
It’s a must go if you are in Montevideo

Mire la cumparsita. Fue extraordinaria.

I went and watched a one act play. It was awesome and La cumparsita music was awesome. Great actors, music, and beautiful building that is one of the only old but well kept buildings in the city.
