“Great theatre and excellent show.”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

We bought tickets on the day (last few remaining) for an excellent show of local music and dance. Theatre has been recently renovated with comfortable large seats in the main part of the auditorium and stool type seats in the boxes. Good value (compared to say London theatre). Buses and taxis stop outside the theatre so easy to get back to your hotel.

“La Filharmonica de Montevideo were excellent”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

My boyfriend and I attended a performance of La Filharmonica de Montevideo and it was fantastic. Teatro Solis is a small-ish but very attractive building, I recommend that you see a show there if you can.

I didn't do the tour so I can't comment on that part of the theatre.

“Beatiful Theather”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

Take the guided tour (available in english, portuguese and spanish), learn about the history and be amazed by the painting and architecture inside. While at it, take the opportunity to buy a ticket and watch a play in the night!

“Surprising guided tour”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

We had very low expectations when we decided to take a guided tour and meet the inside of Teatro Solis. Once inside, we were carried out by very nice stories told by a very outgoing tour guide (students mostly). Our guide was prepared with details on the construction of the place as well as of the characteristica of the time it was conceived (a History class). The tour started on time, price was low (very accessible) and there was even a quick stop at the photo galery. The complete visit took about 40 minutes. Worth seeing!

“Interesting theater with tiers of boxes”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

We visited as a part of a cruise ship walking tour of Montevideo and found it to be an interesting theater. We would suggest that seeing on a tour is not the best way because we were hurried along. Photographers beware that it is quite dark inside and will require the use of wide angles, high ISOs, and low f-stops.
