We had a pleasant evening meal here, good pizza, good pasta and great service. The highlights were the house wine, don't be smart here they know their local wines, and the dessert pancake.

I nearly swept the chef off her feet for that one, had to make do with a handshake as her grip nearly broke my fingers. Go here just for the pudding if you ,use, but go here!

This is below the Palladium Hotel, a block from the Rambla. Nice looking place with great lunch deals- 250 Uruguayan pesos including entree and dessert and the food is pretty good.

The menu is a collection of overpriced, uninspired pasta dishes like spaghetti and ravioli. The sommelier was shady and kept trying to sell us the most expensive bottle of wine on the wine list. We wanted a Tannat blend and chose the mid-range offering ($350 pesos uruguayos or US$17), but the sommelier says "Oh no, we don't have that but we do have this blend" which cost 3x more. He then left our table and we decided to just go with a standard Trapiche Malbec. When we ordered the Malbec, he says "Oh no, we don't have the Trapiche" which would be like going to La Pasiva and finding they are out of chivitos. He then recommended the most expensive Malbec on the wine list. Sensing he was just trying to rip off some tourists, we finally got up and left. We stayed at the hotel next door for three days and never saw more than a few people in this place. If you want a good restaurant in this neighborhood go to Avenida Herrera and try Burlesque (Mexican) or the sushi restaurant next door on the corner.
