25 km walkway along the River Plate, full of runners, joggers, lovers, dogs at all time of day or night. This is what sets Montevideo aside for other major cities. There are restaurants and bars along the way, fabulous Pocitos beach, and at the eastern end an arena where you can watch the locals play futbol or beach volleyball. A trip to MVD is not complete without a visit to the Rambla

Its nice if you want views or if you are an avid jogger or walker -- but its just a huge sidewalk that on a hot and sunny day can get miserable. I did however appreciate the views but had enough after walking for 30 minutes and there wasn't much else to see! For the people who live there its nice b/c many people fish from it!

I lived two month in Montevideo. The Rambla is the place to relax and just be. It's one of the things I still miss after being back home in switzerland. It's a must see and experience in Montevideo, especially on a sunny evening in summer.
