Walking down the Boardwalk, could take you hours as it never stops! What a wonderful site to see Uruguayans drinking their tea whilst strolling about leasurely. Such a special "we are friends" atmosphere!

a great way to see Montevideo is walking the distance. Set foot on the Rambla and walk along the coast´s edge. Take something warm to wear, specially this time of year, the wind can get kind of fierce. Lovely view, and a great exercise!

Miles and miles of boardwalk along the ocean with an unobstructed view. I am a runner and loved the distance markers. It felt safe and you couldn't ask for better scenery.

this is my fave place in Uruguay: throw on some running gear & tunes and enjoy the scenery, people & atmosphere of this cosmopolitan runway right on the beachfront.

We have been to Montevideo numerous times over the past three years, staying for as long as a month at a time. We love the city, but especially La Rambla. The Rambla beaches for Rio de la Plata are from rocky to beautiful sand, and extend along some 10 miles or more along the Rambla. There are several fine restaurants along the Rambla, and it is a great place for walks and biking. It is amazing at that midnight on a week day, you will see familes with children, all having fun, and the traditional mate in every hand, with their thermos of aqua caliente. :-)
